My sr2

Hi all my name is Matt and i'm new to astinagt, this is my Laser SR2 . I have read some other builds and threads and this seems to be a very friendly and helpful site . I'm not to sure about to many mods yet but im sure the more threads i gee myself up haha. I have a few questions, the VICS issue, does it only happen on later models or does it happen on all years of the fs-de? also the eibach prokit, is it available for this car. Also any thoughts of improvement mods i'm open to ideas , but nothing to crazy. Just want a clean daily drive.

hey Matt and welcome to AGT bud, will have to wait untill your photos up to see the beast

best mods for or car is probly a CAI and exhaust ( to help the motor breath a little better, but the best mods are suspension these cars actually handle quite well and are killers through twistys

but again welcome to AGT

Welcome to AGT

As Haighie has mentioned, CAI & Exhaust are relatively cheapish areas to get a little more stick out of the FS, and yes the Eibachs springs are still available, you can buy them off ebay

The VICS issue is officially claimed to affect only vehicles built between 3 March, 2003 and 31 July, 2003, however many have witnessed this problem that fall outside of this range by several months

therefore, it is best to proactively do a preventative measure anyway if your car is close to those production dates. You can buy the recall kit FSY2-13-SRZ from Mazda which includes everything you need to replace the screws. The kit comes with new screws and gaskets. You will need a 1Nm torque driver to properly replace the screws. You do NOT want to replace the screws without that tool as under torquing will likely lead to the new screws falling out!

yea thanks mate, finishes it off well. just thought id ask as these didnt come with the SPs strut brace, which is kinda weird lol. i did pick one up and have it in the car noticed the difference. Gotta upload all the images lol. i did notice that the P5s have them, can you put them on SPs? they look good on the P5 btw. im also on the hunt for genuine SR2 floor mats as it will make the interior look that bit better, kinda rare as hens teeth! also will add what else ive done to the car!

welcome to AGT nice sr2, and yes suspension wise there are many options out there that will put your car 'on rails' handling wise, there are also numerous options for 'bolt on' upgrades to the braking system. any questions just ask we're a friendly bunch on here.

Hi mate, great to see another SR2 on here! Only real performance mods I've done to mine have been an Injen CAI and a front strut bar. I've got low King Springs sitting in the shed at home waiting for new shocks before I put them in. Other than that I've put in a new headunit, volts and oil pressure gauge, new pedals and shift knob. Stuck some nice sticky rubber on there too!

Great little cars, even the relatively small mods I've done have made the car alot nicer to drive! Exhaust and sway bars are the next things on the list.
