DVS,

To answer your question, I ran my SP20, I did a 16.8 @ 82mph, with a ****ty 60ft time (first time out). The car was basically stock, only had a cat-back zorst and K&N filter to pull that time...

I havent had the time to head out... The last run I did was back on good friday of 2006...

I would say if I were to install a better clutch, engine mounts and maybe CAI, i reckon a mid to low 16 could be possible...

Now if i were to do a bit of weight reduction, that number could easily fall into the mid to high 15's...

i'm up for a brissy drag day now that i've got my license back...my last time out i ran on the low side of 15.2, nudging 90mph....with 3 shagged mounts and a tune not quite sorted for the new cams....if i can get the thing to hook up i should be good for a 15 flat now i reckon

Weight reduction on another otherwise stock SP20 should yield low mid to low 16's...the front engine mount upgraded to an AWR should consistantly see you in the low 16s...
i'm pushing low 15's now with the stock clutch, stock tires, stock intake system stock exhaust (!), cams and microtech....not sure how much longer the clutch will survive though - mind you, people have been telling me everytime i head out that it will go "this time" and it still seems happy.....

You'd reckon (moderate) weight reduction on an SP20 would yield quicker than low 16's, considering that was basically all I did on my BJ11 1.8L and ran a 15.8!
Maybe I just have a freaky car!!

you went to the extreme though...

without removing body kit, exhaust system and so forth ... just hte rear seats and rear trim, and hte rear wing to cut some drag....
sure if you strip more out it'll go faster again....

I took out the back seats, the spare wheel, the front seat, the wing and the exhaust, wasn't too extreme!!
