SOHC BG or DOHC?
Which series BA? Later series moved to SOB or SUB forget which from HLA. Different cams too IIRC.

Are these the same cams used in the 99 MX5?
Did these BA3s have a higher power rating in AU?

to add to what edwin said. they are the same cams and lifters as a 98-00 NB MX5. but the MX5 version has more duration. they will swap fine between the engines as long as the shim is not too worn.

no cold start engine ticking from the lifters, better low end torque at the expense of top end power (can be fixed with NB1 MX-5 cam swap)

says the one that put up incorrect lift specs earlier in the thread. but then again i didn't pull you up on it cos it was only 0.1mm difference from correct.
if you wanna check, there is this site called protegefaq. maybe you have heard of it? it gives different lift specs than what you posted. but since you wanna go nazi on every fine detail and pick apart all the previous posts out of context. then the same can be done for a useless loser like you. no wonder they chased you off the usdm forums. you said the BA3 cams are the same as the NB1 cams, I said they are not... you copy and pasted those specs yourself, why are you still saying you're right when I pointed out you were wrong?
you're just wrong, period the specs clearly are way different between both the BA3 and NB1, nevermind that they are "close". Close does not mean "same". Mazda does not use adjustable cam gears or any fancy crap to make one cam work differently in a different application. No, they cut a different cam, stock it under a different part number, and put that different cam in the other engine, plain and simple!

again you took what i typed and used it out of context with the same/close bit. just dont be rude when making corrections.
it just a forum. post when typed don't always read the way they should. grammer isn't at a great level. and the way you may read something is different from the way other may read it. grow up. move on. stop being a padentic child. |
