What does this all result in? Around 2,000 rpm the engine will occasionally misfire, which feels like a fuel/rpm cut. In order to get the engine operating correctly again I need to basically let the revs drop back down to idle before giving it a boot to break through the 2k rpm "barrier". If you keep the accelerator down while it is "mis-firing" it will just keep bouncing off 2k rpm. This should be resolved soon with the installation of a Microtech. So, I will definitely have a well-behaving car for the next cruise. Also, I have some serious organisation to do for an up-coming overseas trip. Anyway, have fun guys. Cheers. |

bad news buddys...well not heaps bad but heaps bad for me...me and kaz and our friend will still be coming...but not in the astina...fixed somethings on the car today then went to drive it and had other issues now... 5th gear and reverse dont work...so we will be in either a white VN commodore or a white celica last of the pop up lights type...

Well today was kinda ***ed.
We had a double nose-to-tail on the way there. Bourbon was leading when we can to a pretty much hidden 1-lane bridge with a 4wd coming at us. He locked up and i did right behind him pulling up short. Zappy hit me from behind and then i bounced off bourbs (who was in a white celica, dunno what the owners name was but she was there :s) anyway, minor damage to my car, muffler and tip are rooted but took 90% of the impact as he was lower than me. bumper is chipped and bent, subframe has minor bending but nothing i can push out. front bumper has scratch and a crease dead centre, minor scratches elsewhere. zappy's car is pretty bad, front grill, lhs headlight etc were forced back taking the radiator with it. amazingly it still runs, apart from the fact the radiator is cracked. the damage looks pretty bad though, raidator mount is stuffed, along with the guard etc. my tip punched a nice round section out of the bumper too the celica is 100% ok, to what i'm guessing is the great relief of the girl. Cars are supposed to be fun right?

Brooke got photos of Zappy's car. I'm sure they will be up soon.
After this little incident the day turned out ok. For a while I was reppin for the Astinas because it was me in the Astina, Bourbon in the Silly-Car (owned by the hot chick, who ended up drinking by the end of the day), Gav in his Mazda 2 and Shane & Hardcore in the MX-5. We kept on to Natural Bridge which was pretty cool. Then we met up with Marc after he dropped John & crew at his dads. We got fish and chips, hung out for a while then headed out. Anyway thanks for everyone that attended! Hopefully the April Cruise will be just as fun without the accidents. Very excited first cruise. |
