CV Joint Query

i`ve had to replace both outer cv`s on our 97 astina ba auto.had no problems with the drivers side

when it came to the passenger side the cv was stuck solid in the hub.i managed to get the hub with cv out & into a vice.using a big hammer got the cv out

then i had trouble getting the new cv onto the drive shaft, broke 2 of the circlips. luckily had another.

i got everything bolted up & went for a test drive, car has a clunking sound coming from the front & feels notchy (best description i can think of)

back in the shed, wheels off.passenger drive shaft has movement in & out like it`s not seated properly, drivers no movement. car on stands & in drive passenger wheel doesn`t move, seized caliper ?

any & all advice appreciated

jason

I knew it was a long shot but thought hey possibly you didn't quite do something right ? Plan B would be to ring your local front end shop & politely "annoy" their technician

found the problem,it was actually from the drivers side.i don`t know how it`s happened but the cv joint has some how spun on the shaft & chewed through quite a lot of the teeth on the shaft & inside the cv causing a heap of movement when the steering wheel was turned.

so long story short i`m up for a complete drive shaft.are these hard to remove & replace ?
