Lightbulb Wii U Japanese Launch Details

I'm still sitting on the fence in regards to this system, specially after my wii did nothing but collect dust the last couple of years. Launch details:

Quote:
Nintendo has announced the Wii U will launch in Japan on December 8 and will be available in two different models.

The premium set, which is black, will feature 32GB of flash memory. The basic set, which will be white, will feature 8GB of flash memory.

The Premium bundle will cost ¥31,500 and the basic set will cost ¥26,250. Based on the current exchange rate this is approximately US$405 and US$337. A standalone Wii U GamePad will set Japanese gamers back 13,440 yen (that's just over US$170). Prices in US dollars are provided for context; Japanese pricing may not necessarily reflect pricing in other territories.

The Basic set packs a white console, white Game Pad, an AC adapter and a HDMI cable. The Premium set includes a black console and a black Game Pad, an AC adapter, a HDMI cable, a Game Pad dock, a console stand and a two-year Nintendo Network Premium subscription that runs through to December 2014. Nintendo Network Premium offers 10 per cent off digital purchases.

Aussie Launch Details

And the Australian launch details, as usual we screwed on price:

Quote:
The Wii U will hit stores in Australia and New Zealand on November 30, 2012, the same date as Europe. North America will get the system first on November 18, while Japan has the longest to wait, with a December 8 launch date.

The system will be available in two packs. The Wii U Basic Pack will retail for AUD $349.95 and features a white Wii U console with 8GB internal storage and a white Wii U GamePad. The Wii U Premium Pack, on the other hand, is all black and retails for AUD $429.95. It contains a Wii U console with 32GB of storage, a Wii U GamePad, a stand for the console, a stand and charging cradle for the GamePad, a sensor bar and a copy of Nintendo Land. Both packs come with an HDMI cable and AC adapters for console and GamePad.

Look - Hate to sound all businees like but - sorry Its only fact.

We don't have the NUMBERS. Everyone compares us to the US.

but We have Safe gaurd tax's and with out them - you would no be able to afford Customs - Afford good securtiy setups. the list goes on.

All these things add to the Cost of importing Items into Australia.

If our population was half of the USA. With that kind of market share With the setup we have then Majority of companys could easily afford to import at cheaper prices fro more market share.

10-20 years ago if you had a product and you won 10% market share in the USA. one one small $5 item you would be a Millionare - Today due to the economical climate now. you need approx 18% to get to 50% of that.

On the other had in Australia here we have the money but - we are tight arse's. Our market does not like to spend - Never has.
Many factors apply.
One of the Major Factors is Enviroment.
We - can go out side - Play Golf - NRL - Go to beach Surf-. 95% of the year. Anytime of year. Regardless of where you are in the country - Contrary to my claims of Victoria being wet and misserible - truth is it's drier then Sydneys Basin for rainfall annually

In comparrison 60% of the USA's POPULATION has at least 3months of year where they will either spend more time INDOORS - Unable ot travel due to SNOW and other poor weather. ThinK Tornado ally.

I bet they will move more WiiU's in the 1st week then we will in 3months - per head.

So please This whole it's too expensive it's NotFair etc.

Understand the true hidden costs. - Yeah I know the case costs them 0.005 US cents to make but, it cost alot more in a bigger picture and Shareholders do and would like some profit.
