would this intake work?

hey everyone.
just looking around on the net and this idea popped into my head.

do you think that there would be much point in adapting this to fit:

it would be basically a bigger version of the stock snorkel, and id presume it wouldnt hurt the performance...

i reckon you could make one for less then that

or just run some piping from the front grill. it's save you $370.
