auto not changing
Just picked up a ba auto 1.8L - the auto seems to shift to 2nd only and wont shift to 3rd or 4th.
The owner thought the auto was slipping in gear but its actually not shifting up. I am not too conversant with autos - have always had manuals - what should i b looking at first or is it a rip it out and give to tranmission shop? Is there anything external to the transmission to look at? |

Run the engine until warm and check the trans fluid level (with the engine running).
Top up is only through the dipstick tube so be patient.
