They are alloys very very light, only problem i have with them is traction and they are rwd offset. I'm not sure what they are I got them off a parts 323 wagon i bought last year, they were in bad shape so i cleaned them up They are on my wagon atm. I have some steelies on my car atm thats why i don't have traction of any kind lol

Well since like 3 weeks ago i removed the motor and started collecting parts for a rebuild i go my first part today next week pistons, rings and bearings

B6T Rods

next i need to find out how much high compression pistons are, and new bearings, rings ect

Need some MX5 pistons

what my car looks like atm but i changed the grill over to a black one

oh hehe, I had to put my 2 cents in too. Rotaries aren't unreliable. ill-maintained rotaries are just waiting for the inevitable. A well serviced and maintained rotary makes a great engine. (well maybe not a 12A or earlier) but 13B wise they can last and last.

and on the grille its not too bad, though I'd love to see the centre cut out and just replaced with some subtle mesh, black or similar. i know i know, mesh is bad. but it wouldnt look too bad like that.

your right about the rotaries, once you start to port a rotary your going to have reliability problems. Mazda wont release a motor if it wont last atleast a good amount of ks.

as for the grill, I'm trying to find a BFMR grill its the one with the center not there with the honey comb mesh

I started to strip it down, Tomorrow I'll be taking the head off but I'll have to go and buy a socket to fit on the head studs lol

hmmm the head bolts are a funny flower shape huh. just to make things difficult.

interesting build, will watch your progress on the engine with much interest. she how other peps do it.

I took the head off, pistons seem fine but whats bothering me is there are hone marks on the cylinder walls it looks like someone honed the motor at some stage, and a very very tiny bit of oil on the pistons. One having the most its very slight but enough to make the engine smoke. So i don't know if i need to replace the rings or not, I'll have to see when I take out the pistons I guess and do my measuring

If everything is good I'll be replacing the rings, putting in my B6T rods maybe some bearings and then polish the head and Turbo it I decided I'll be using these pistons they'll be good enough for a turbo on low boost

ok well the motor is fully apart now just w8ing for a new crank(tomorrow I hope ) Here are some pics

and block is pretty much ready for stuff to go back in just need a crank the crank i have was confirmed today as unusable :lol:

nope its not easy to find this cluster man, its a 1987 Mazda Etude cluster its white during the day and during the night its red. Its not the normal BF cluster payed too much for it haha

as for my car yes its going atm i fixed it yesterday night goes good again, just need to fix the exhaust leak

I also bought a 1985 Mazda Familia one of the very first BF familias, going to restore that from now on and just use my car as a daily and work on the BP

youv'e lost me evil. Why is the SOHC machined. Which car are you putting the DOHC engine in? Are you sorta fixing the one for a daily & then working on the BP that'll be off the road for a while?

To clear up the confusion up top haha well the headgasket on my B5 went so i replaced it.

I havent been on in a while, remember the RED 323 up top its almost done just needs some lowering springs. I sold my silver hatchback and bought a BFMR that is my next project. It need a ****load of stuff done.

anyways here is my Red hatch now my daily, Not bad for a $270 car :L got wof and rego now too passed with flying colours

Stuff that was done, fix 100% of the rust placed brown interior with some new stuff, removed AC, Heater core all the guts from the dash. Shaved tailgate and heaps more.





How it is now




Next thing on the list will be a new motor.
After 30 Jan 2010, I will start the engine conversion it will be a KL-ZE. I'll keep the motor NA with only cam and exhaust mods, Lantis LSD and custom driveshafts
