1.6 owners? what petrol do you use?

out of curioousity, what do you 1.6lt owners put in your car?
normal unleaded, or premium?
can you safely run premium on 1.6l engines?

i use normal. because i can't be bothered paying more for premium. its not gonna give my car more grunt, and i'm not too fussed about the normal being too 'rough' for the engine...

and yes, you can run your car on premium.

what's the owner manual say? if it says to run 91ron, then 95ron would be cool. running 98ron is a waste of dollars as the ecu would not adjust enough for it.

Best way to see what fuel is the best is to test it for your self.
It's a little bit of work but something I've done with all of my cars for the last eight years. Make yourself a chart with the following;
Odometer.............Litres.............Consumptio n...........$/l 91.........$/l 95........$/l 98
Every time you fill with fuel fill out the chart. Run for three to four weeks with 91RON then 95RON and then 98RON.
You will then have enough information to use the best/most economical fuel for your car.

With the 95 and 98 you or a mechanic can advance your ignition to achieve the fullest advantage but remember that if you can't get high octain then your engine will suffer.

Oh yeah,
I ran 98 on my 1.8 as it was about $1 a tank cheaper with a mild advance in the ignition. With the KF I run standard because 95 and 98 failed the test.
