"93 Mazda 323 Astina SP Temp Gauge showing Heat and Coolant from Overflow bottle.

ok so I've this problem for two weeks now.

I've taken the car to multiple mechanics and I cannot get this fixed.

So the car when I drive a little more aggressively it overheats.

So what do I mean exactly well the temperature gauge goes extremely high progressively out of nowhere and the car doesn't cut out because I usually turn it off before it goes to H on the temperature gauge.

It also leaks coolant while sitting in a stationary position.

And I've filmed it while it has been leaking.

It seems to all be coming from the coolant overflow bottle.

When I take it to the mechanic they run it around the block for 30kms and drive it hard but it doesn't leak or cause any issues.

Please help ASAP.

Anything like that is going to be difficult to diagnose. It could be a faulty thermostat, failing water pump or blockages somewhere in the cooling system.
I trust that you have checked that the radiator is clear of any debris and that the fans are working.

The mechanic hasn't checked the radiator.
But I was going to just get him to put a new one in.
Water pump he checked that it's not leaking at all.
Thermostat and Switch may need to be done next.
I might get him to look at that.

The water pump does not need to leak to be bad. The internals can corrode and not pump as efficiently as a new one.

The thermostat was all rusted is this normal? You can't even push it in and out.

That's what my mechanic wants to put in?

Is this the right choice for a cheap motor he said it would cost about 1k for the motor.

Would it mate straight up to the existing architecture?

Why not just replace the thermostat? About $2.5K cheaper than doing a full engine swap.

MX5 engine requires a lot of work to make them fit and work properly inside and 323 engine bay.

Why do you need a new engine?
Yeah a water pump isn't the cheapest thing to replace but if you change the timing belt at the same time then you're killing two birds with the one stone. Also any engine you put in will not come with a new water pump, thermostat (I can tell you horror stories about that) and that is IF the problem is in the engine.
Does the heater work well? It should get hot enough to almost blister your ankles if directed to your feet and if you're not wearing socks.

My Mechanic Replaced Thermostat, Coolant Overflow Bottle, New Radiator and New Spark Plugs and Leads and Fluids.

There's no problem driving it home it was hot today down here and no overheating at all.

So cross fingers hopefully tomorrow when I drive it, it's fixed.
