This consists of RCA jacks at the back of the headunit. Im sure that the iPod connection would just use this. You would not be able to control the iPod through the headunit though |

There was an option for a Minidisk player in that head unit.
So i assumed that there would be some sort of din plug that i could adapt an ipod lead into ........ in order to get 5v + audio in ......... i dont expect control, just full quality audio in + pwr. Did you do a ice install or mod factory setup on yours ?

Minidisc isnt a full DIN. its just a small module that sits between the two large round control knobs. I still have my stock headunit in, but I do have an aftermarket headunit that will be going in soon. There is a 'How-To' on getting better performance out of the stock unit. It does require some electronics work and soldering but i hear the results are impressive. Head over to www.mazdas247.com and search there. |

Thanks for the kind works. I wrote up a list of jobs to do on the car today and it was 40 items long (some quick/easy, some time consuming). Must stop buying things for projects and then letting them sit there. Intake is near the top of the list to do next. Cheers. |

I'll explain 'wanker route' for you …
you know those dicks you see driving around with big wings, big stickers, big tail pipes … but that's it … no actual performance or taste. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. Too much wankerism around these days for my liking… I'm a purist with my love of cars … Just one man's view on the current car culture ...... don't mean to offend lol !! Movie's like fast & furious have alot to answer for !!!

I know I'm the 'new guy' to this forum or any forum for that matter.
But I did buy my SP20 new in '03, chose it for its substance as an all round car that both my wife and i could enjoy for different reasons. At the time for $30 - $35k it stood head and shoulders above anything else (paid $29k). Now in '09 134000 k's its quality is still evident and with afew budget mods, it can still mix it up on the road with other more fancied hot hatches out there ...... I've empressed and embaressed more than afew..... lol Its the only car I've owned that still feels as solid as the day i drove out of the Dealer !!! Have had a [ecotec V6 '96 VS II Comm 'S' - From NEW] + [SR20DE N14 Pulsar SSS] - loved both , many Mods..... much experience gained good/bad. Done the club racing scene with friends over the years & street drags etc... From my point of view, spend your money on Handling & Braking Mods First. Then Drive train ............. leave wings and things till last (if at all).... Don't be Cop Bait ........ Sleepers all the way !!! ....... just have to lay down the truth .... there are some of us, that when we look at your cars, we can see the effort, blood & sweat you have put in. And we will give you props for it ..... flash(BLING) on its own should impress no one, its the quality of the work that counts. Sorry for the long speech !!!
