it went 140 going down a hill
and it went 140 going up a hill

it just wouldnt get any faster at all. it just got to this point
then again i gues a 5 M brick isnt that aerodynamic

I tell ya 120 in a charade purchased for $300.00 with um slicks, feels just about as fast as you would want to go.

An auto charade at red line is pretty loud too I must say, and the looks, you get just awesome looks of horror.

My first 323 (1977 - FA4TS) would manage 160km/h, 4th (top) gear @ 6000rpm, the 'stina could manage 190ish km/h and was still pulling very very slowly. Realy dangerous stuff when you start passing cars at those speeds. I only ever had the ol' Cosmo up to 220km/h, the length of the front straight at Calder was the limiting factor.

my friend KF only able hit 180kmh with JDM meter panel. once he change to the local 1.8 meter panel with 240khm he can break the speed cut , but max speed i not sure :P

I've had mine to about 190 or so, and I gotta say that my car (03 BJ astina) is not a safe or capable car at that kind of speed. Any morons that do it on public roads regularly should be taken out and shot.

Sure we've all done it, hopefully on tracks or at least out in the middle of no where where you can only kill your self, but seriously as was said before try it once (never going to stop people from doing that) then get over it.

As for "accidently" doing 180, I'm sorry, but what a load of crap. I've driven cars faster than (probably) any astina and I didn't "accidently" do 180kph...

well slow down then
If you want to race like that
do it on a track
Top speed means nothing
Absolutely nothing
Most racetracks wont see you hit top speed
Its all about handling, knowing how to drive and Acceleration
Try it for yourself
A track will tell you more about your car in 1 lap than you will ever find out on the street

A certain BPT BA hatch has been to approximately 245km/hr (speedo said 235km/hr with 18" wheels that made the speedo read 5% slower than the correct speed. It had been proven on a dyno) and to be noted that was coming off a hill. Its funny because bends that don't exist at 100km/hr are quite sharp at that speed. When the wing that was on it was taken off to repaint it didn't feel safe anywhere above 190km/hr.

Doing that speed is absolutely stupid on a public road and I do not endorse it in anyway. These days it would be smarter to go to an airstrip to do those speeds.
