Wind Deflector Fitting

I thought I'd ask from here since pretty much every pair of Wind Deflectors not already on a Type-R outside of Japan come through this place so someone must have done it before.

I took my least broken deflector to my car and offered it up but to me it's not obvious at all so if anyone can give me advice, tips or a guide I'd be your friend!

Cheers.

I didnt bother with the brackets for mine. I just used double sided tape and they stayed on the car for ages. Only prob is a bit of the front started to unstick. I bought some new tape (better quality) but havent gotten around to sticking them again tho. If you take a look at other cars, most deflectors are only held there by double sided tape

Downside of just using tape tho is they have a chance of flying off or or getting stolen

(i take it your talking about window wind deflecters as just wind deflecters could be anything really on a japanese car)

i believe its held on with double sided tape around the body covering the window
and as the door opens clears the plastic on the way round
most are installed by double sided tape as far as i know (and some clip into the window sill. however this isnt avaible being a pillarless window)
id pm rupe as he is the one that sells them so he would have a good idea how the are fitted. if not go to mazda and ask

There is absolutely no way that I could go to a Mazda dealer here in the UK and ask for advice about (window) wind deflectors. Those morons have probably never heard of Japan so are certainly not going to know about the JDM options.

But how?? Where are the screws to get that bit off? I already thought about taking that bit off even if it's just for ease of fitting.

Thanks guys.

Sit the deflector on the black strip above the windows, make sure the clips are pointing up from the pivot point, them push the deflector up so the clips clip under the black strip above the window - it's as simple as that.

The bit you're referring to there is very much nothing to do with the deflectors. I believe that this is the strip that roof racks would be attached to. Quite far away from the window frames.

Thanks anyway, though.

So it is! Thank you, sir. Got one fitted haha. Just need some double sided tape and dry weather to finish the job.

0 degrees C and snowy here. Bet it's a whole lot warmer in Oz!

Meh it was 35 degrees in Melbourne yesterday and about 35% humidity
I was lucky enough to get mine on the aluminium strips so it was very easy for me. Also picked up my Lantis door sils at the same time.

That's probably too hot for me. 16 degrees C is my optimum temperature haha.

My sils came with my Type-R.

It's so simple I'm embarrassed that I even had to ask! But I will try to take a good picture to show how they fit.
