I wouldnt worry about the headers until after you have sorted out the cat back exhaust to something like 2 1/4" with high flow cat or you will get no benefit. Even after this you may get the headers done and still not find the power YOU were hoping for and there is a simple answer to that. Its NA and the auto boxes were never built for speed, they will perform better on the highway than they will on the street.
BTW I wouldnt go near a custom build for the headers and yopu will be extremely lucky to find any for sale in Aus, Custom jobbie may set you back up to $1000 and with very few shops if any that have experience with the v6 'stina you may as well flush the loot. I am not talking you out of extractors I just want you to be well aware of what you will be facing along the modified track. Get your headers off the US market (eg: ebay, corksport, rr-racing etc) but you may need a custom cat-back system to suit, but dont go ahead expecting massive gains.. Good Luck |

I was thinking about this sort of thing the other night. If you filmed your speedo with a camcorder, you could very accurately work out your 0-100 time using video editing software. You'd be able to get the start and and finish bang on, then its just a matter of checking the time code.
Easy! |

dont forget your speedo isnt that precise (up to 10km/h out at 100km/h), so you would still need to work out you actual speed to be accurate. I did it with my phone camera on my astina and i reckon it was 9.6sec 0-100 as indicated.
Otherwise you could use G-tech or whatever it is

air filter, K&N pannel, i think astro boy sells em for under a hunge, cai, well, about $50 in parts from bunnings or super sh1t and about 2 hours of labour on your part under the car, loads of threads on how.
Maybe run it on 95 for a couple of tanks, injector cleaner and maybe a sludge remover during your next oil drop. Sparks are cheap and allways a good thing to replace. Amazing what a little service will do to your performance. Then there stage one car lieghtening: remve spare change from ash tray. Stage two: ciggarete lighter, out the window. Hi, a little bit goes a long way

ok now...is yours a SOHC or DOHC auto or manual? now i no my auto SOHC bg beats the ba hatch V6 auto...there hard to start get moving, until you get higher up in the speed...from memory 0-100km/h in the SOHC auto was about 12seconds...so im thinkin in the DOHC i can do it in 9-10seconds...

Never been much for the 0-100k time thing as it has little bearing on the roll on drags / passing times out on the real road or the light drags from 0 - 60kph.
If you can do 80 to 120kph in less than 5 seconds then that is impressive. (AMG E55 = 2.78seconds) On the open road in my Lantis Sedan Type R (2.5litre KLZE=129kw at the wheels) I have pulled out and passed three cars travelling closely together at 80kph and I was doing 185kph by the time I got to the lead car. (80-185kph) (Verified by the Cop that gave me the ticket - Yes and the licence was gone too) No the Cop was not impressed even if the pass was done with a 1km of room to spare. (Gave the old people something to laugh at) In town 0 to 60kph is possibly more important. For round town duties I have a 17 year old Honda Concerto 1600cc EFI Manual and I have no trouble giving the "BoyRacer" a go 0-60kph as the car is no slug 0 to 60kph. After 60kph its a different story. |

My tubo
does 0-100 in about 6 sec with a good launch.80-120 is about 4 sec in 3rd gear by my reckoning, not quite mps 3, but nearly

153 engine kw, wheels is like 122-125or something. But, 330nm of torque and 1180kg weight helps also.
