Mazda Mechanics or Specialists

Hi, is there anywhere near Sydney where you can find Mazda specialists or mechanics? My car engine has problems which the mechanics cant seem to find.

Hi, this is the diagnostics report which the mechanics gave to me after they gave it the once over. They also decided that they didnt want to work on my car and told me to take it back.

Rear Main and Front Seal and Rocket covers $1000
Timing Belt + Water pump $350
2x Front strut tops $350

The prices seem reasonable, but because the wiring and pipes are messed up by the person I bought it from, they wont fix it.

Does anyone have a picture or instructions on what goes where? Then I can put it together and get it running properly again.

Im in desperate need of advice and guidance on how to get her road worthy again. She is such a beauty.

Exactly what ice said!
More info to what exactly is happening then more than likely you'll get a solid response!

This is the general outlook of the engine bay, if you think I should zoom into certain areas let me know. I took many pictures. Thanks for offering to help anyways, it really is a nice car and I would like it to go smoothly again. THANK YOU!

What is this and what goes onto its tip?

And this as well. They are both lying around dangling loosely.

do you have a aftermarket stereo system? or the car had one previously? The red cable with fuse most likely went to an amplifier for a stereo... trace it back and see if it goes to boot or under front seats. if its cut off and dangling around in the engine bay id say its no longer in use. If this is the casepull it out and bin it

Like DVS said the red wire is most definitely a power cable for an aftermarket stereo system with a fuse attached as it should be (usually this will go to an amplifier to power a subwoofer).

The wiring in the engine bay looks normal, having exposed insulated wires is common near to plugs.

Strut tops are definitely worn. Personally i wouldnt pay $350 to do them as you can buy a pair from repco for $180 and fit them yourself in 2-3 hours if using ratchets, 30 minutes if using a rattle gun.

The seals are pretty common, the rocker cover gasket is roughly $25-$40 from repco and is a 15 minute job, being a V6 the other 2 seals are a bit of a pain to get to and unless you have the skills to remove the motor and do them then i'd leave them to a shop.

Timing/water pump is fairly common. If i were you i'd take it to a reputable shop, preferrably a large workshop as the V6s are a nuisance to work on (not much room in the engine bay) as they will often be more keen to tackle the larger jobs. If you're worried about the work not being specialised enough just take it to a mazda dealership with a service centre and have them carry out the work however i'd take a trip to repco before doing so and buy oem replacement parts and only pay mazda for the labour as if you pay for genuine mazda parts you could be looking at a whole lot more.

Thank you all so much. I will slowly proceed with the repairs and poking around. If I have any more questions of what goes where I will ask them here. Again, thank you!

Hi, Im having problems when accelerating. I have to press the accelerator quite far, let go and then repeat the process for it to move off. Kind of like a press, let go press let go, in quick succession. It sounds like i am revving the engine to annoy the person next to me even though I am only trying to get it to move off. However, once it hits 40 it is not so bad and goes quite alright.

top pic tis the purge valve for the charcol cannister.

bottom pic is the solonoid for the fuel pressure regular. probably the issue with you under 40kph stop to go issue. this should have a soft rubber pipe between it and the fpr.

I tried to match the hoses to the tips but I found only one that is long enough. Might it be that the one its supposed to go to is broken off or lost? And if so, what is the size of the pipe I should order? Where is the FPR located? I have seen how its supposed to look like and was searching for it but I cant find it.

When I cover it like so, the engine threatens to dies off. From this, there is a whistling suction.

To get it restarted again I have to turn the throttle off and on like revving it to get it going again. However, this would make a popping sound or a small dull boom.
