i am suprised it cranks if it is a immobilizer issue. should just be surpressing any electrics to the engine bay. although i do not know about BJ factory units.

After spending many hours trolling the guides and looking at the differences I have figured out thats its probably going to be easier to use the FS-ZE wiring harness as its correctly wired for the engine + ecu as there is only two places where the harness connects to other than the engine sensors, the fuse box in the engine bay and the plug called 'X-18' on the FS-ZE and X-15 on the FP-DE that connects to the body harness and thats where im sure the differences are.

Played with the wiring and piping and I'm pretty sure I got the VICS working this afternoon.
It doesn't feel flat from 5000 revs onwards. Will have to test it again later tonight when I drive the car again. |

Thats what it looks like ATM, its going to look much better in a few weeks when I clean and tidy the engine bay. It must be about time for another coffee/meal meetup, im going to try and make it to the F&F 5 night but as I work late night Thursday it might be a bit hard. |

I have worked out the list of differences between the ECU wiring diagram and it appears the one major difference it the immobilizer circuit that came in my car.
Im going to call Mazda Australia and ask for more information on the immobilizer and for the rest of my cars wiring diagram so I can figure this out. I wonder if I will get any of that out of them, they seem less than helpful about providing this kind of information when I recently spoke to them. |

Refer to your emails:
Do you still have access to the rest of the donor car . If you had problems with the immobiliser the car wouldn't run at all . Last edited by maztech; 19-04-2011 at 02:02 PM. |

Scan the instructions to PDF and then run them through Abby Fine Reader which can save them to a document file of some sort. After this you can grab the Japanese text and run it through freely available online translators.

I can read the Katakana (Japanese characters for phonetic English)
For the more complex characters best to use an online translating service

Update :
I have just done 2000km since I had the engine installed, it hasn't burnt a drop of oil and the oil still looks clean! And its nice having a oil pressure gauge that works. Its averaging similar fuel consumption to the old engine at about 470Km to 45L around town in a lot of stop start traffic I hate Brisbane city traffic in the morning,it takes me 50min to 1 hour 45 min to get to work and only 25-40min to get home (its 25 km each way) The Wiring diagram is currently being translated and Mazda is sending me a copy of the full wiring diagram for the JDM Familia. Its not a big job to change the wires, its just was a time consuming task working out what each wire does which is why im now getting the document translated which I've been a bit slack about as the cars driveable as it is now and its nice having a car again after nearly 3 months without it. |

Hey, nice to see a good and rare upgrade. Pretty cool. Looks alot easier and cheaper than what I just did! Thankfully, I had an entire front cut to work from and figure out how to make it work.
Where did you get the FS-ZE wiring diagrams from? I could still do with some GF-GW5R KL-ZE info(hard to find anything on it), even though the engine is already in and running.
