Question About the 323 astina Instrument Panel

Hi, I just bought a 2003 Mazda 323 Astina hatchback (1.8L) two days ago. I found that it don't have an engine light on the panel. And our mechanic took out the panel and he can't see the place for the engine light. I wanna ask if this model have engine light on the panel or not? Thanks

I've called MAZDA today, i asked if this problem can still pass the road worthy,
but that guy said it won't and it depends on different model.
I wanna know if anyone have the same problem?
Because I am afraid that if there is no engine light, i'm not gonna realize the problem of the engine.
Thanks!

Should be on the left side, above the ABS light. Most likely the globe has blown.

You don't need a check engine light. It could be unique to the SP20 and the 2 litre engine.

The 1800 doesn't have a check engine light or ABS for that matter
