My brother is gonna be attending this Uni in July for 3 years initially. Anybody had any experience of this place? Good bad? Downright ugly? Cheers guys. |

How far from Brissy?
I told him its probably about 700 miles, but he reckons it nothing on a map.... I kinda had to explain that maps are wee, real life is big. |

townsville is a nice place, i have a friend going to uni there also.
Last time i was in townsville it seemed like a very relaxed place. a few hours up the road is cairns and just down the road is the whitsundays - what more could you want! |

WOW !
I honestly didnt know that - i thought from brisbane to townsville it would be about 4hours - lol cause about a year ago i sold my Bluebird Attessa and a guy from Townsville came on a flight to Sydney and brought the car and drove it back to Townsville - he called me after a day and a half (when he arrived home) and i thought he took forever to get back home - lol - there you go - you learn something new everyday. |

It a bit less than a 17hrs to Townsville, more like 15hrs, you can do it in a day 5am to 8pm ish, is about 1350km max from brisbane. I used to live in Cairns and have done that drive quite a few times, not many twisties though
