Raff's BJII 323
G'day
I thought might start a work Log... Car is a 2001 323 astina hatch in Champagne Silver. Bought it about 5months ago, completely stock and in very good condition. When I bought it I had no idea what I was buying but was after an economical and reliable car to get around in and save money… The opportunity arose so I grabbed it. Somehow its grown on me so much so that its re-ignited my passion and hobby for cars. You see back in '94 I sold an immaculate 1971 XY GT 351 and have since regretted ever since - big time. I had spend around $70,000 on it and back then sold it for close to peanuts, so I promised myself to not spend any more on cars - until now! This little 323 has done a number on me and I can't understand exactly why… I mean it's mot even fast… I absolutely love the SP20's and If I had of known what they were before I bought mine I would of definitely grabbed one of those. But for now I'll do mine up with a some of the SP20 gear if and when I can get it.. The car handles beautifully and is a pleasure to drive. Mod List Exterior Clear side indicators Front chrome grille mould painted black Wipers from Supercheap (want to get aero ones) Interior SP20 Steering wheel & air bag SP20 Gear knob Leather armrest Black with grey/silver stitch Leather Gear gaitor Black with grey/silver stitch Brushed matt alloy guage surrounds Sperling seat covers front & back (gift) Clarion VX400A double din head-unit Alpine Type R splits 6.5" - fronts Alpine Type R two-way 6.5" - Rear Fusion 5 channel amp Fusion 12" Sub and enclosure Dynamated doors and boot New Alarm Suspension SP20 Front Strut brace Pedders Sports Ryder Lowered coil springs front & back Pedders shocks allround Performance K&N 57i High Flow intake Kit Wheels & Tyres NB MX5 16" Rims 205/45/16 Bridgestone Potenza's Wish List/Future Mods New headers and performance exhaust system right through SP20 original full body kit Sway bars TWM - Short Shifter & bushes Customised number plates Rear wiper upgrade Wiper switch with intermittent adjust light engine work… cam etc. Last edited by Rafferty; 26-01-2012 at 12:23 PM. upload them on to photobuck or flicker, etc... Then when you put your mouse over the photo it will give you a image code, copy the image code just into the message box and it shall work

Thanks Justin-sp20,
I got given the seat covers as a Christmas present. Wasn't too keen at first cause the original seats are in top nick (prob 'cause previous owner had car seat covers..) but as soon as I put them in (and I did a rush job..) I liked them! They are Sperling brand and I think they were bought from Supacheap. Her's a link to see check them out: http://www.sperling.com.au/htmlpages...ers_matrix.htm Last edited by Rafferty; 26-01-2012 at 12:22 PM. Reason: Link didn't copy |

Liking the steering wheel
SP20 seats are different shape to the 1.8, Just buy some and stretch them to fit, eventually they'll stretch even more and fit perfectly |

yup.... the SP20 seats have deeper bolsters, but the silver fake strips on part of the bolsters reduces its effectiveness

your steering wheel is starting to look a little polished up... it's a sign that there's wear in the leather... get some leather shampoo and conditioning oil to keep that clean and well oiled so you can stop what plagues every sp20 steering wheel out there... worn silver dyes from the leather!

Yeah, you're right TheMAN.. I'll look into it as its already started on the silver parts, especially the drivers right hand.
No worthwhile pictures of the outside yet Rhys and Ben.. Will take some next time I polish and detail car. "mynameisdaniel" has taken some inspiring shots! might take a leaf out of his book and try and do similar........ ........now where is that decent camera stored...... |
