4Cyl BA clicking noise

Guys,

just wondering if you could help me locate the problem.

my car has been having some clicking noise from the front left wheel (i think)...
and the clicking only happens when reversing, and only last for a couple seconds.... does anyone have experienced this? or what would you guys think it could be??

Cheers,

Andrew

Clicking when revering straight or cornering i.e. backing out of a parking spot?
Probably CV joint related.

i reckon it happens when reversing straight.. sometime i could also hear the clicking when braking slowly at low speed...
had my mechanic took the front left wheel off couple days ago.. he thought that was just the brake pads that caused the problem... and the nosie was gone for couple of days and came back alive... really annoy me...

sandman check that your stone shield on the hub isnt rubbin against your disc...mine was and could reallyonly hear it under 20km/h... but WAI yours could either be sway bar link, CV related (possibly)... i reckon somethin to do with the steering, so take it to a steering shop specialists and get them to have a look over it.

yeh... i was thinking it was either the brake or some steering components....
but if it was the steering components.. should the noise be there when going forward as well??? kinda confused coz it only happens when the car go reverse...

Does going slow around a sharp corner put weight on the swaybar?

Clicking only in reverse? Wouldn't that be the 'wearing caliper pins' thing?

Do a search and you'll find what i mean.

i was thinking the same thing. you can buy replacement pins or for something quick and easy, (doesn't always work but it's what mazda mechanic did if the problem arrose under warrenty,) is to take out pins, swap the pins from 1 side of the car to the other, and re-insert pins.

yeh mate.. did a bit of the research on that topic...
but then... they were more of having problem when braking really...
that was only BigMal who had a similiar situtation to me but he has it at his rear and mine is at front...
Did the caliper pins kit fixed ur problem BigMal?

i also having the funny click click sound. and i dont think is from the cv joint because both cv joint are brand new.
it happen before i swap my gearbox. after i do the G box swap with new driveshaft n CV joint the click sound still happen.

i change my lower arm too..but the problem still there

it come out when the car move from stand still or soft braking while the car going to stop. really screw up with it
