>>1.8 engine mounts
If the 1.5 block is of BP designation then the 1.8T should bolt straight in.

>>v6 driveshafts
Why V6 driveshafts?

coz they're stronger. really it'd be a good idea to use the v6 hubs as well, since 5 stud is designed to handle more torque

I know they are stronger, but its not like people have been snapping drive shafts left right and center. Why spend money when its not needed

better to be safe than sorry. I'd hate to have one die on me when driving. wheeeee spinning in circles

if mazda's research decided that the v6 model needed stronger driveshafts, then surefly an engine more powerful than the v6 would need them too.

hmm, makes sense, although as Jynx said, people haven't been breaking them, so I guess it's a personal choice. If you have the money, go for it.

mine are V6 ones, but not really by choice

only because when my engine was pulled out the second time (for the rebuild) they were disassembled incorrectly and had to be rebuilt. so the driveshaft palce upgraded them to V6 ones at the same time.

apparently a lot of BA astinas are mix and match - some have 4cyl and V6 ones -different on each side. lazy day at the factory if you ask me!

gives me slightly more peace of mind i guess

Also you always break the weakest part. If you upgrade everything else then
weakest part is the gearbox and thats what you will be breaking. Same as I
would not go extreme with a clutch as would sooner have clutch slip than busted
boxes.

Regards

Mal
