[color=#000000ost_uid0]the rx8 looks beautiful with its evil styling, but it doesnt have the classic touch of the rx7. however i do like the 'suicide' doors that open backwards, and the fact it has a back seat.
but give me the choice and the rx7, especially series 6, wins over any other car on the road.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#FF0000ost_uid0]I was reading somewhere that Mazda is still developing a new RX7. It will have turbo rotor, and will break the 206kw limit. Although that wont be first, coz Subaru is about to with the B4 STi. think the figure was about 250kw. They showed off a concept about 4 years ago that had a front similar to the RX8, but was a proper coupe.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]yeah i seem to remember that, but i think they ditched the idea and brought in the rx8 to totally replace the rx7 series.[/colorost_uid0]

To the best of my (limited) knowledge, that is correct. When we were buying the beast, I was reading the articles the dealer had up on the walls, and it mentioned the new RX8 and how it was replacing the RX7 totally. They WERE supposed to bringing out a couple of version of the RX8 (eg one with only 2 seats, one with 5 etc).[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000080ost_uid0]im pretty sure that the jap goverment has put a limitation of the power output to a max. of 206kw on all performance cars.

but on the other hand, i think the new nsx has more than 206kw?!?! ??? ??? ???[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]nah i think that max power output limit was a 'gentelmans' agreement between the major car manufactures. i dont think its anytype of actual law.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#FF0000ost_uid0]yea, it was a gentlemans agreement, ie not legally binding. But now japs are feeling the pressure against rising output of the Euros, Yanks, Aussies, everyone!
As i said, new B4 STi will have more than 206kw, think it was about 220kw. GTR, NSX, STi specials, EVO lancers have all had more than 206kw for a while, just no one wants to break the agreement and so lists power at 206kw.

I read about this RX7 about a week ago in a Euro mag, ill search and see if i can find it again, but i got about 10 from the Birmingham motor show! Everyone always makes the 'last' something, then its there again not too long later! [/colorost_uid0]
