Yeah sorry men, i would like to know whats on offer for a new front mount for a BG, just pricing and installation - all that sorta stuff.
Yeah i am looking at getting his car but the ECU has a problem so it wont be running for a bit. He has a Microtech LT-8 and it blew a fuse (no idea why)? Now it has an error, he also said the car ran great before the Walbro fuel pump went in? Could the fuel pump be connected incorrectly. I mean, it could be a million different things that set the error off. Just wondering if you guys know/heard of anything like that? Cheers. Dan. |

That's anormal Microtech issue, but is an easy fix. Heard of it alot accually. I can't remember how to fix it as haven't touched a MT in about 4 years. Ring Mircotech and ask them. or e-mail?
Also a FMIC with piping will cost you between $800-$1000 installed. Ryan |

oh really? its a common error. hmm. so its easy to fix but how much would it cost? if u can remember lol. also, do u have to send it to microtech or can u take it to a mech that deals with em and re tune it?
thanks for the price on the fmic too! |

Microtech and associated wiring sits behind a 15amp fuse. Any more then 15amps draw over this fuse and it'll blow.
This is to protect your microtech from voltage spikes which would kill the system. Recheck your wiring (i've blown the fuse a few times on mine, normally comes down to a wiring mistake/not following the wiring diagrams to the letter..... just be thankful theres a fuse there to protect your stuff ) |

Sounds like the goods to me... In a street cars, there is always gonna be massive power/voltage spikes due to things like headlights, air-con, power-steering, stereo units etc. If it's just a fuse, yippee

if the problem cropped up when you upgraded the fuel pump, insure its wired in properly. it should NOT be getting power over the same power wire the microtech gets it from (microtech should trigger it on, and it should get power from the battery via relay - microtech manual shows the diagram)...
if you are trying to pull power through the same wire, its bound to blow that fuse =) recheck your wiring, trace everything back over the wiring diagram and be 100% certain you have it right - if the problem persists, get on the MT forums and ask the question (but if you hop on there first, they'll first tell you to doublecheck all your wiring :P so best to do that first....then you'll get an answer quicker). as Ryan points out, there are massive voltage spikes and stuff in a street car - get a DECENT grounding kit to iron some of this crap out... you can make one yourself from 4 guage wire and terminals - it'll cost you all of about $50 and 2 hours of free time with beer. Single best electrical upgrade you can do to your car (tiny bit of power gain as well, apparently) |

hey hey I own the car at the moment.
Recently upgraded the fuelpump to a walbro unit, installed fine, bar popping a fuse once (wires touched). anywho, got the pump working, lots of pressure in the lines. When I try to start it, it cranks and cranks but just doesn't turn over. I checked the microtech fuse (blue 15amp), it was blown.. so i replaced it. Still won't crank over!!!! checked for spark, plenty of that there is a redlight on the ecu that is on and also an orange one flashing when cranking..... I have no idea whats wrong, and I am having trouble finding a place to take it to. I just want it fixed, cause Dan(tinastar) is waiting for the car It's a Microtech Lt-8 any help would be appreciated (its got a BPT by the way) cheers -Ryan

orange one flashing when cranking is perfectly fine - that indicates spark.
obviously you cant get the car anywhere (or can you), but i could certianly have a looksie. if not, we've got very good contacts with the microtech boys |

tps wont be a problem, for the MT it's an option.
can you (through a laptop, dash unit, hand controller) go to the error screens and find out why it's flashing? you can just use the side options from the main screen that shows when you first turn the MT on |
