Want to convert 1990 BG10P1 Astina SP - Noob need info.
I've heard a lot of things about the familia 1.8 engine and how it is so similar to my 1.8 engine and now I'm thinking of purchasing a 1.8T engine and putting it in my astina.
I've found someone who has a FW drive astina SP modded with this engine and it is still FW drive... Now I'm confused, I always thought that the engine is made for 4WD and that if I were to do a conversion, I would have to change heaps of crap everywhere. So, is there anyone out there that knows exactly what needs to be done for my year astina?? And approximately how much it would cost?? Kind of a big task to explain everything but if someone has the time it would be appreciated. Thanks. |

FWD or AWD is a choice of transmision. The basic engine is the same.
Else, what Boyd said. Michegianni, where are you from?

Hey dude, as explained above...it's called an engine conversion for a reason. Pretty simple now you think of it hey. lol
You keep your original gearbox and driveline and just change the motor, it all bolts up without a problem. Also you can check out what I've done with mine. Links below.
