Queensland Raceway / Lakeside Sprints

Hey all

A friend of mine does the saterday avo sprints at Lakeside and QR, and I was wondering if anybody here does them also? I want to start racing but my sp20 not up to scratch just yet.
There is a General Practice day at Queensland Raceway on 27th March.
Check out the Queensland Raceway website if interested.
It is a good day of fun driving, pushin the limits of your car and in a safe environemnt.

Cheers

Dean and myself both go to Lakeside. I forget Dean's user name. Dean has recently purchused a JDM MX5 to race.

I was supposed to be at Lakeside today, but it's rained out.

Lakeside is 100 times better than Queensland Raceway, but 100 time less forgiving.

Yeah I havent driven on lakeside myself yet but have been to the track a few times to watch and it looks pretty hairy. My friend has a V6 VN commodore just had the engine rebuilt and it sounds mean.
she races in the saloon cars and what ever else she can get too. if you see her at the track (lakeside or QR) the VN is Black and with Number 01 on it .
I used to be the pit crew but dont get to go as often as i would like now. Baby and missus holding me back lol.
the mx5s are fairly quick around the track and are fun to watch as well.
alot of people think it is expensive to go but its aqually not that bad.

Anyway hope some more people get involved it is awsome fun. i have a heap of great memories and laughs to look back on.
Cheers Matt

I'll be going to the practice day at QR as well, just need to finish my oil cooler, install my gauges, replace my Castor rods (there isn't any bush left) with my Kazama items YAY!!!
and get a 2nd set of steelies with some going home tread on them (Also for the various drift days I already do...) After that, just some new KU36's on the rear and Im set.

The 20 though is still a good platform fastest i got in mine was 1.09:6. so not as slow or as fast as some but comfortably in the middle. would love to see ya down one day. Will there be sprints days happening in june or july? And are there any prerequisites to go in the sprints or is it open to anyone?

Oooh, dirt or tarmac... decisions decisions.

Which one is generally better for a first timer? I'm looking to go to one (or possibly both).

Cheers,

doesn't make much difference which one for a first timer.
As long as you take it easy you shouldn't have any problems.
