Mazda SP20 1st & 2nd gear very jumpy

1st and 2nd gear jumpy and accelator right to the floor. Any ideas. So when taking off in 1st it is like someone or something is shaking the car.

Sounds like either the Front, rear or side engine mounts have torn, or its a combination of all of them, most probably the rear & front mounts.

is it only in first and second? what conditions does it happen in? like all the time or like only when going up a hill?
sounds like an ignition problem ie coils, but it should really do it in all gears under load,

My misses car started doing this about 1 month ago.

First gear all the time.

Does not matter if flat ground or hill start.

Once out of first its back to normal, smooth in all gears at all speeds.

Anyone know cause and solution to this?

Thx

Hi

I had an issue that sounded very similar to this just after buying my car 2-3 yrs ago. I found it to be a huge split in the intake piping after the MAF so the air read outs would be messed up when the car would go to take off but was fine when the car was moving.

I replaced the pipe and fixed the issue right up so have a look at that first as its free to have a look and feel around after the MAF for splits .

Also if you are running a K and N filter give the MAF a clean. I did mine the other day and helped my car become a world more smoother in 1st and 2nd as I was afraid I had done an engine mount it was that shaky of the line.

Hope this helps too.

Jeremy
