Running Rich.... BG Turbo
G'day G'day,
How are we all? Just got a hold of a BG turbo and im really happy with it except its running rich. There's fuel coming out the tail pipe and it doesn't like (hates ) cold starts and taking off when not warm. It sounds like it flooded. I know it needs a tune and im working on that but its not out of tune THAT bad, not enough to cause it to run so rich. When its warm it loves it and there are no problems.. I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas.. Mods: Walbro pump Stock fuel reg - malpassi waiting for me to put in Please advise, Dan |

hey tinastar,
Do u know the condition of the Oxygen Sensor. These symtoms remind me of problems ive had before with the O2 sensor... Check ur pulgs also, if they are covered in carbon, eg BLACK!!!, then this can be another sign that the O2 sensor is playing up. Hope that helps mate. Jeremy

easiest thing to do...bring it to OLDMAC Mazda at springwood and ill (or another tech) will do a diagnostics test...if theres a problem with a O2 sensor we'll find it...come to think ofit there was one guy with a black GTX who came in last week with the same prob...it was his O2 sensor....

He has a Microtech, so his oxegen sensors are only there to prevent exhaust leaks...
Just go take it to B3M (bum) and get them to tune the bloody thing... |

yup needs a tune
or lower your fuel pressure... 44psi with out vac, that should = 40psi with vac **providing you have a pressure guage** i had mine tuned...hot starts good..no stutters etc but cold start sucks, its around 4 degress in NZ mornings...and well...30 CRANKS to get it to start im unsure if its too rich or too lean...but its sparking
