you have the f series box. a good replacement (the only replacement is the g series box), however unless you plan to boost it its probably cheaper to just keep replacing the f series ... or not break it in the first place

Look at your VIN plate, it'll say BA11P2 or BA11P3, which means F series. Only the BA11P1 (94-mid95) uses the stronger G series.

If you swap over to the G, it's Clutch/flywheel/gearbox/front and top gearbox mounts/clutch line and actuator/driveshafts and cvs. Parts (apart from gearbox) are a pain to find as even a lot of mazda wreckers don't seem to know the difference. Just say you're after 28 spline shafts, not 26 spline (f series) as that helps

The same gearbox also came in the Laser Liata (KJ1) and apparently the Laser Lynx

If you pay more than 500 for the G box, you're paying too much.

Hope that helps!

is there any diff in the gearbox other than strength? I am also currently running a F and thinking of going the G. seeing as it i get any more power to the engin I will break the F. *grin*

Not really.

Well actually you can get LSDs for the G Series but there's no options for the F.

If you haven't broken it, i wouldn't bother to convert it unless you're pulling the engine for an engine coversion of somesuch (to save labour cost etc)

You may not break a gearbox at all, but turbo + F doesn't have a good history as BigMal and i have each broken a few boxes.
