Hey All,

Just wanted to vent some anger at the way an innocent person was pulled over last night. I was on a walk with the missus (as you do), and a civic drove past us. It had a fairly quiet exhaust and lowered springs at the front. Other cars were passing him, so he was not speeding...
An unmarked police car jumped 3 lanes and pulled the driver over.. they pulled out that long rolly thingy for checking ride height, and also check the muffler... I couldn't believe how they could jump 3 lanes just to check that.. I didn't know the driver, but I was furious they could just pull him over for at least 10 minutes checking the car and other details, then just speed off.
Not even 5 mins later, we see an absolute rusted out gemini wagon go past... leisurely as you like....
WHY?!!

Bill[/colorost_uid0]

instead of fighting crime, australian cops have nothing to do but pick on us ppl who have mod cars.
that's why crime stoppers here are pretty bad.
if you compare here to the USA the police there are more focus on the criminals.
there are woman getting rape, cars stollen, killers ect while at the same time the cops are looking at your car for defective mods (HOW SAD!!!)...
any1 agree???[/colorost_uid0]

Yep I agree, although mabey we shouldn't really be blaming the police (well, most of them anyway), it's more the poilies who make the rules and tell the cops what they should be doing (ie raising revenue).[/colorost_uid0]

i completly agree
last month my friend got pulled over in his full stock 200sx, at about midnight by a couple of coppers. one of the cops asked if he could take the car for a drive and he refussed, and the cops got even madder. but who the f%&k is goin to let a cop take ur car for a drive, who knows what they're goin to do.

i think its all got a bit to do with the revenue (like alot of the speed cameras), but i think its also got something to do with societies prejudices against kids (usually guys) in loud cars. i dont want to make it totally a race related thing, but its even worse when ur not caucasion, because its more about the perception by the cops.[/colorost_uid0]

yeah, thats true, being an asian and have a tatoo on the right upper arm, wearing singlet and driving a hotted up car on the weekend nights is a CRIME....according to most cops anyway.

next time when you got pulled over (touch wood), try answer is/her questions with constable XXXXXX (they must wear a name tag and have his/her badge). That way, they think that you have their name and its always easier to lodge a complaint if you know who hassled you. ::[/colorost_uid0]

amazingly i've never been hassled by the cops in my car (even tho it's under legal height clearance) but i've heard some horror stories.

i know of one guy that got defected for having no 'H' pattern on his gearknob...how f$%ed is that![/colorost_uid0]

stock? i'm sorry, that word is not in my vocabulary

but the H pattern defect was for a manual car. legally u have to have a gearknob showing the shift pattern on your car. VL Walkinshaws got around this by having a picture of the pattern near the shifter apparently...[/colorost_uid0]

last time when i was pulled over... the reason is not important.....
but the cop let me off... when i said "thanx officers" they got quite offended and replied "we r not officers, we are detectives"... and drove off.......

You know, I have never been pulled over in my car by the cops *touch wood* The only time I ever been pulled over was driving my mums car, and its a stock lancer.

The cop pulls me over and asks for my licence, goes back to his car and comes back and asks if I own the vehicle...I said No, its my mums and he comes back saying "does she know you have it??" in this bitchy tone lol I said yeah and that was it...gave me a breath test and left.

I've been pulled over 5 or 6 times now. Lets count:
1. foglights and speeding in my first drive of our Gen III VX - let me off foglights, couldnt prove speeding coz they didnt have a radar
2. foglights - let off
3. speeding - only 10km/h over and let off
4. speeding in Victoria - was 28km/h over (138km/h) and was let off. Again, in the Commie. Was coming home from the GP wearing ferrari everything, flag across the rear window, ferrari logos over my face, and im thinking that this guy is gonna pound me for imitating Schumacher. We started chatting about V8's (he had an SS that he takes to a track every now and then), i argued that it was impossible for me to be going that fast because i had cruise set on 115..... we'll ignore that i had just planted it to overtake All was good, my girlfriend was sitting in the car wondering what was going on, we talked for bout 15 min then i left!
5. foglights

Actually, all were in the Commondore!

Defecting for no shift pattern is ridiculous. Whats the point? So that if a thief gets in your car then he can find reverse easier?! Stoopid.[/colorost_uid0]

This is really gonna sh!t you all, but I've only ever been pulled over once into an RBT setup, hadn't been drinking. I've been driving for about 6 years now.

Now I'll get pulled over for every thing, you watch!! [/colorost_uid0]

The shift pattern is an interesting one because I thought that the upmarket gearknob for the new 'coon (falcoon) XR6 or XR8 didn't have a shift pattern on it. Trying to find a picture to back that up but I thought they mentioned it in the last Motor Magazine. ???
