i slow down because id rather not get caught, than get caught by a possibly faulty camera and try to argue it in court...
and last time i drove past the camera on the pacific mwy (sat night) the lines were gone... perhaps its the digital cameras the article was talking about

They just re-surfaced the road at the one on the Pacific Mwy, that's why the lines are gone I assume.

which makes no sense because if the camera is faulty it will probably get you doing 20 under along with 2000 other people, and it wouldn't get to the point of any infringements sent out,

And if you are worried about your speedo being out
use a GPS unit, most will even tell you the speed limit for the area you are in

yes my phones built in gps has that
a faulty camera can give ANY speed that is different not 20km/h, as was a case a few years ago. it only got found out when a truck was caught doing something rediculus like 150 or something up a hill.. but hey for the 2000 other cars b4 that they could do sweet fk all..
if u are driving n u see me slow down for the camera go around, there r 3 lanes 4 a reason

id just like 2 c how ud argue a speeding ticket, for lets say 130 in a BA falcon.. NOONE would beleve u werent speeding..

if you are slowing down, move out of the right hand lane.

I wondered about that, my NB used to be pretty much spot on with the speedo vs my GPS, but my NA is a fair bit under (111 on the speedo is 102 on the GPS) on level roads at least. Not so sure about ascending or descending terrain.

I slow down to 100 on my speedo though, just to be sure haha.

you'd expect that from a 12-15 year old car. but it is a massive difference.

the 3 is out by 8kph and the 323 is out 0-4kph depending on wheels used.

My car the speedo is exact according to my GPS. 60=60 and 100=100.
So if I get caught speeding its my own fault.

That's what the lines on the road are for
a simple dispute raised would make them check the distance/time images(if they don't already before the infringement is sent out)
the QLD fixed cameras take two pictures about 1/2 a second apart

The NSW cameras use the magnetic loops under the road to detect speed and ascertain which lane the speeding vehicle was in, I have never seen one go off so I don't know if they take two pics, I must take a closer look and see if they have two flash units

And if I was caught doing 130 in the BA, then I probably was

theres an easy trick to not getting caught speeding: dont drive

lol but the cameras havent change AFAIK (they look exactly the same) so unless they stripped the inside out and switched them for digital tracking cameras then they are just there to scare ppl (perhaps they couldnt keep payin ppl to go out ther n retreive the film anymore lol)

oh and the taragindi one is the one i was reffering to
i mean they did just resurface it as plotonus said but

oh ryan i didnt c ur post up till now yeah i dont usialy drive in the right lane anyway..
