Today at the MX5 Club meet, I had a great response regarding the Dyno Weekend!!
I think we will have a couple of MX5's join me on the rollers, including a pristine white SP! Some competition for Osprey, Rupewrecht and JynX!! Also a limited edition Grace Green NA MX5 and a Soarer!! I am hoping I have convinced a couple of others to join us as well!! AND Positive feedback about the Sunday run to Tidbinbilla! All good so far! We have paid our deposit for the Dyno, and everything is coming together nicely. A big thankyou to everyone that paid their deposits on time, and another big thanks to Osprey for assistance so far...... I am really really excited now, and think this is going to be a FANTASTICO weekend!!! Everyone had better be ready to party hard!!! *does a practise boogie!!* |

Can I assume that everyone that is attending the dinner will also be attending the cruise to Tidbinbilla on Sunday?
We are about to go and do the run, check the road, how long it will take etc. While I am at it, I thought I might give the people in the Cafe at Tidbinbilla a heads up as to how many people will turn up for lunch. Wouldn't do for them to be out of food or not prepared for us  Updated List looks like this: Aaron and Kitty Tony and Emma? Rupewrecht and Vix Jynx and his blow off doll.... Nate and Dunky - you boys!!! Twilightprotege AHB11M Cosmo Dude Odd12c sabrelli Critter Sik Astina and Leanne SP:KING Mr Payner Big Mal Bear ------------------------------------------------- Grand total 21!!! |

OK Kitty and I just did some testing of the Sunday "Tidbinbilla Cruise" route.
So stats: Total Distance: about 105kms No Servos around but there is a Optimax Shell near where we start, plus an Ampol up the road. Time to get from Meeting Place @ Kamberra Winery to LUNCH... 45minutes to an hour depending if we have to stop to gather stragglers passing through the citty fringe. That was done at a pleasant pace, a little above the posted limit where safe, and below when the posted limit. It also took into acount striking traffic. I'm sure more details about the lunch venue will be posted soon, but from there the loop is a wider one if people want to take it. It's got some nice fast curves but a few more ones that are deceptive at speed.... We'll also establish TIMES so peopel know when they gett o get up in the morning.

Hey guys... disappointing that I'll miss this weekend... looks like fun! I'll be enjoying the delights of Sydney, plus a few quiet drinks (followed by a few loud ones! ) at Coogee and then going to the Cat Empire gig at the Coogee Bay Hotel on Sunday night...
But we may be leaving on Sunday mornin' so I'll try and come out and see everyone at the Dyno... On your Tidbinbilla cruise, check out the Space Centre... big telescopes... Cafe for refreshments and a nice view while you have them... we used to stop there when we did the same cruise on the bikes... Hopefully see you all Saturday... *crosses fingers*

Updated List looks like this:
Aaron and Kitty Tony and Emma? Rupewrecht and Vix Jynx and his blow off doll.... Nate and Dunky and Kritta - all just good friends, really!!! Twilightprotege AHB11M Cosmo Dude Odd12c sabrelli Critter Sik Astina and Leanne SP:KING Mr Payner Big Mal Bear ------------------------------------------------- Grand total 22!!! The people at the Moonrock Cafe were awesome, when I told of our impending visit..... They have even given us the option on a couple of meal deals. Option 1. They will put on a BBQ for us with steak, sausages, salads, desert, coffee etc the whole shebang (for you Jimbo!) for $15 per head Option 2. Quiche or Lasagne or Gourmet Pie Chips and Salad Desert Coffee/Tea $12.50 per head If we go with option 1, we will be sitting outside in a pergola area. If we go with option 2, we will be given our own dining room. Personally I think option 2 is the go. on the normal menu, the Lasagne w chips and salad (which is what Aaron and I had yesterday, was yummy) costs $11 each and coffee is $2.70 a cup and $3.10 a mug... so you are already a couple of bucks ahead. If we get 15 or more people wanting to do Option 2, then we can have the seperate dining room. I will say that the food is pretty good, but they don't have a HUGE range either. I know some of you might think $12 is a bit much so there is a normal menu we can all select from, but we have to take our chances with seating. Gourmet Pie $4.50 w chips and salad $9.00 Normal Pie $3.50 w chips and salad $8.00 Lasagne (meat or vegetarian) $6.50 w chips and salad $11 Quiche $4.50 w chips and salad $9.00 Ham and Cheese Croissant $4.50 w chips and salad $9.00 Garden Salad $3.50 Bowl of Chips $3.00 Hot Dogs $3.00 cheese and bacon .25c each Sandwiches (can be toasted) Cheese $2.50 Tomato & Cheese $3.00 Ham, Cheese & Tomato $3.50 Chicken $4.00 salad extra $1 roll extra .50c foccaccia extra $1 soft drink $2.80 hot chocolate $3.10cup $3.50mug milkshake $3.50 iced coffee/chocolate $4.00 Can everyone get back to me by THURSDAY and let me know if we want to go with a "per head" deal so that I can let her know? Even if you give me what you want from the regular menu, she can have it all ready for us when we arrive. We don't want to be there all day waiting for food!!!! A nice stopover, bit of a looksee, a bite to eat and then back on the road! I know some ppl want to return on Sunday so we don't want ppl leaving too late in the afternoon. For Tidbinbilla, I suggest we all meet at Kamberra Winery at about 10am for a 10.30 start. Get out there for lunch Be back by 2 - 2.30ish What do you all think? |

It is VERY COLD here in Canberra with night time temps getting below zero!
Bring warmies!!! Daytime is usually clear and sunny but a chill in the air. Although it is getting to 12-15 degrees, the wind chill factor is pretty cold! Let me emphasize again BRING WARM CLOTHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lunch preferances stand at: 3 votes for $15 per person BBQ 17 people yet to vote (Aaron and I will just go with whatever everyone decides) C'mon you 17 people, vote now!!!! This means YOU: Tony and Emma Rupewrecht and Vix Jynx Dunky and Kritta Cosmo Dude Odd12c sabrelli Critter Sik Astina and Leanne SP:KING Mr Payner Big Mal Bear |
