Australia Day 26th of January 2005
Repost of Newcastle Cruise on the 26th of January
Me and Andrew thought we would repost the Australia day cruise because the other thread isnt getting much response latley and we want it to be a big success, so we thought that a fresh start could reboot some interest in the day. For those who dont know on the 26th of Jan we have a large AstinaGT cruise planned at Newcastle and we would like to see as many people as possible. At this stage it looks like we have a 3 or 4 cars coming from QLD (they are staying in the Newcastle area for a couple of days i believe), quite a few Newcastle people are going and at this stage about a handful of people from the Sydney and the Centeral Caost areas are coming, im not sure about other Areas it would be good to see people from everywhere but it is for many this is quite a distance to travel. If you have any feedback or ideas for the day please post them because this will help the people organising the cruise. Please feel free to invite as many Astina GT people you know as this will be a memorable day. If you are interested in coming please tell us and we will see you on the day. Cheers, Tidy |

Looks like me, snert and twilight will be staying at Maitland, so I'm happy to go with the flow on whatever you guys decide since I don't know the area.
I'm sure whatever happens I'll be happy, it'll be my first time there and I look forward to meet everyone and catchup. TAKE IT EASY! Gav. |

Just some ideas
If we were at the Vineyards for lunch maybe we could on the way back cruise to Morpeth grab some afternoon tea and then cruise down to the foresure and then we could go on a cruise by the beaches. Anyway toss some ideas up and lets get a general conscensus on what everyone wants. Who's Going At this Stage based who said they would go in the other thread and this one, It Looks like the Following : Me Andrew Snert Gav Mcwilly (i asked on him thursday) Arden (im assuming because he started the other thread) Nate Boostedbatman and the Cat Toyboy Mr Shadow DCSR Essjayyell Mazda Biran Gold BJ Astina ROB-80E Laser The Amazer Preeman80 Brad 323 SP20 Rosco (oz mazda club) Indefinates: TDK (maybe) Xedos (maybe, if can get a lift to Newcastle) Rodhog (oz mazda club) he maybe brining a few of his friends with Mazda's too. Probably would be most of the people from the Newcastle Cruise in September minus a couple of people, so probably another 7 or 8 cars. If interest in this cruise low, we could invite some Ford Laser forum people and maybe Team Dream but thats a big maybe it just depends what you all think. Anyone who wants come im guessing we might get a Handful of people who randomly decide to come. Posible Ideas People Staying In Newcastle overnight or for a couple of days For Dinner maybe we could celebrate Australia Day in the Aussiest way possible a BBQ in King Edward Park. For the night we could go down to foreshore and watch the fireworks and hangout im not sure what Newcastle City Council's plans are for the Night but it should be a good night. If any of you guys and girls are drinking that night I wont be so if you need a lift back to motel I can drop you off. Cheers, Craig |

The Bat and The Cat are in. Dont know where we'll be staying yet as we will also be going to Quakers Hill to see Amanda's family for the first time in 5 years for her and never before for me. But we should be around for about 4-5 days for whatever festivities are being decided. We're both looking forward to expanding our AGT contacts and experiences.

Hi everyone,
Well I haven't answered any questions about whether or not I can attend this cruise because I simply don't know. I have to have major surgery in the New Year and don't know when. In the meantime I am pretty sick and stuck in bed most days. The other problem for me is that driving from Canberra to Newcastle is approx 5 hours, and if you are cruising in the morning, what time do we need to be in Newie? If we are meeting at 10am, then we have to leave ACT by 4am  If you have people staying in the area, why not plan some things over a few days and that way people can come along to what they want. Morpeth is a great idea!!!! Maitland Jail Some of the roads out neknok and singo way used to be fun when we went riding with the motorcycle riders club. (all yellow cornering signs were double add 10 for your speeds, not that we weren't insane or anything!!!!!) Stockton Beach for pictures Nelsons Bay is really nice too Take everyone on a cruise to check out the shipwreck. Book lunch for one of the days at Bluewater Pizza. Beaches Hotel rocks!! Cheap accom, try Raymond Terrace too. Hexam with the big mossie even. There is an F1 in Cardiff, but there is no way I would stay out that way again! I wouldn't mind trying to get myself accomodation at the base, but it would be a bit small methinks. All up, you guys are doing a fantastic job of gettign this cruise sorted! Kudos!!!!!!!! *ponders the wineries* *tries not to drool on keyboard* duoh! |
