you'll regret going to a black headliner... it'll look "dirty" and your interior space will feel small
why don't you try something different... make the headliner plaid? maybe in charcoal/grey and redo your pillars to match? I think it'll look very good this way

i have a black suede headliner, plus black suede pillars and plastics were all covered in black suede.. I do not find that it made the car cabin feel any smaller but it does make it much darker in the car when our not in direct light.

oh really? interesting.. how difficult was the removal of the headliner? i have a sunroof...would that be harder I wonder?
also, how many yards of fabric did you need? thanks man! always enjoy seeing your car. went to meet last night, then a canyon drive. plaid was accepted. lol they all liked it. heres a pic from the drive and you can see the plaid pretty easy. I laugh everytime I see it.

no idea on how much was used since i ordered enough to do everything and still have some left over. the headliner is a joke to remove you just have to remove all the plastics on the a/b pillars and the rear plastics, then remove the visors and oh **** handles. Once that's done drop the lights and controls for the sunroof and the 3-4 plastic tabs at the rear door. Headliner should drop and come right out the hatch, and be ready for you to remove the old material and replace with the new stuff.
think it took us about 20 mins to remove everything before i dropped the headliner, we rewrapped mine in new foam before the suede so its like brand new. |

if you want to dye the sunroof cover, you'll need to take the whole thing out the car and disassemble it so that it can be done... too much damn trouble
like I said... if you understand the psychology behind colors... the lighter colors of a ceiling adds to the feeling of roomyness/airyness... darker colors makes it feel more dreary, or enclosed your choice, but I think you should go find someone that has done this and see for yourself before deciding what to do

again good points. thank you. always interested with your input. maybe i'll wait a bit. for now i'am enjoying the clashing of the two colors and have had many compliments already.
thank you very much. I made a shift boot today, also bought a rally-wink 5 panel mirror and wrapped that in plaid. lol I didnt have as much fabric as i thought so, the door cards will have to wait. boot: wink mirror: did this last week. lol all the plaid so far: shopping last night: hope you like it

In a little Japanese car, I would be worried.. However when I had my x7 Cressida, dropped pipes and hard hard offset, I never got a glance from the police.. Purely because it was a Cressida I imagine haha
Do you mind doing a recap on your suspension specs, wheel specs and modifications required to get your stance? |

no prpblem man. here are some speca for ya! suspension/wheel specs: wheels:xxr's 002 16x8 +0 offset tires:falken 912's-205/40/16 suspension: BC coilovers, slotted for max camber (rears only) camber = about -3.75* up front -6.5* rears (according to my camber gauge) toe= 0 front and rear rolled/flared front and rear gaurds (still rubs a bit over large bumps) thats really about is as far as stancing goes. Then I have a host of other suspension pieces to optimize my handling in the back roads. Im not big on speed...been there. Im all about handling. Handling>straight line speed imo. lol also, look here at this thread: http://www.astinagt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17862 shows how to slot your rear coilovers for more camber. thank you kind sir. do it! its sooo easy and you'll fall in love with you car all over again.
