gday

Hey everyone,

As you probably picked up my name is Nathan, im 19 and i live in Perth WA (at the moment i'm in Kalgoorlie working for 6 months), I came across you fellas when i googled astina hardtop believe it or not .. I picked up a fridge-white 97 KF Hardtop about 6 months ago now, I've done minimal mods just the K&N panel (i read they are more effective than pods in these forums..) and the 2 1/4 catback exhaust with the highflo cat. Visual mods i chucked on 17in choppers and lowered it 1.5 inches at pedders and blacked out my indicators.

I would really love to ask a question to everyone: Does anyone know about a the miller-cycle eunos engine being transplanted into a hardtop? Might have some cash to blow when i get home from the mines.. I kinda ran the 2l 6 dry when my oil pressure switch split on the freeway so she's pretty sick atm although still runs ok. My mate (noob driver) got a 17.4 at quit motorplex with the bung engine but i love the idea of a supercharged astina

Take it easy people

Welcome mate

Ive looked into that transplant and its too much messing around for minimal gains and there is no guarantee that it will ever work properly or that you wil be able to get easilly accessible spares for the supercharged engine which is very rare.

insted a more common and simple swap is a KLZE. So its almost a plug and play option - almost

you gotta source a 2.5L from an 626, MX6, Probe (try to get the imports tho to get a few extra KW).

Then it is a very snugg fit into the V6 engine bay, but can be done relativelly easily. Thats at least what im lead to believe.

thanks alot for the info man, on top of all that i read also that the miller-cycle only came in automatic as well.. not much fun. Maybe bpt is the way to go, seems loads of you are experienced with it and seeing as the boys in blue arent quite as strict over here in the west, might just get away with a few bolt ons..

As for the pics you'll have to wait two weeks sorry im in the mines working atm, free internet ftw tho :P

BPT in a V6 engine bay is a bit of a fiddle.

You could always drop a KLZE and then boost that. Its been done, but it all depends on how deep your pockets are and on how much custom work you wanna do to it.

If you wanna get a BPT then your better of getting an I4 car and go from there, rather than modify a V6 to fit an I4 (someone correct me if im wrong, but their engine bays are significantly different i think.)

=o oooh 200hp sounds nice from the kl-ze, just looked it up at adelaide jap (not much use living in W.ait A.while but meh), like you said it's really not that far behind the eunos engine considering the thousand dollar price difference..

If you're starting from a V6 base, then the KL-ZE is the way to go as RR said. With some basic mods to complement it (like exhaust/intake etc), you'll have a little weapon
