[color=#000000ost_uid0]i have a simple dream...
my dream is 2 forget the whole system and scare the **** out of pedestrians with the turbo!!!! ppiiiiiisssssssshhhhhhh. i took another turbo rx7 s3 with a s5 13b for a test drive the other day and the whole experience was invigorating!!! although once i get tired of that i think the idea of a lil tv screen to control a couple of subs and their friends would be very cool. and one thing i want now is a remote, so i can change **** from the back seat. and i like the idea of the laptop in the car giving readouts. dont no how usefull it'll be, but it'll be fun. my mate used to have a system rigged up in his laser where he had som kind of lil hard drive system under the drivers seat where he had all his mp3s and then he had a number pad and a little screen on the dash so he could change the songs. and he'd just pull the harddrive out and add more mp3s when he wanted. problem was he always had trouble finding the rite song. it was a pretty crude system that he just hooked up at home, but it worked. just.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]I had to think abit, but I rekon an integrated hd (At least 80-100gb) as well as wireless lan support so I can upload/delete songs and setup playlists whilst the car is in the garage.
That would be cool!...[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#FF0000ost_uid0]hey, thats an interesting idea. t'would be sweet
olymp, sounds like ya mates got a nice basic setup. this could be a solution to his problem: get a steering wheel that has buttons (e.g nos buttons), and connect them to the music source in the skip track button thing. he could just have it on 'play random' and improvise or something.[/colorost_uid0]

That was a 2000 watt amp to 2 subs, so 1000 rms per sub.....tho the W7s will handle close to 2000 anyhow As for 2000 watt subs, there are plenty. Adire, Digital Designs, Shocker, Treo, Resonant Engineering, Hifonics, Orion, Crossfire, MTX, Total Recoil etc etc all have them in their 2003 ranges, not all as yet on their sites. For good lists of links, go to; www.caraudioaustralia.com or www.mobileaudio.co/intdir Will have links to most..... Happy surfing[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]i have a control box with a display screen and the various buttons. *the drive is sorted into artist, then album, then songs. *So first you have a list of all the artists on the screen, then you scroll thru that. *go into the one you want, and u can see their albums. *then just push play on one or go in and choose songs. *
[imgost_uid0]http://users.bigpond.com/ksole/photos/lcd1.gif[/imgost_uid0] I can also put in playlists created in winamp onto it and play them instead. Theres an identical display and controls on the tray for the hard drive too. The hard drive comes out and inserts into the PC where its just like a normal hard drive at normal HD speeds. I can stick in whatever i like, so 80-100gig is very possible If i'd needed to buy one that size.[/colorost_uid0] |

[color=#000000ost_uid0]:O *i bet that shelf sounds real nice
just playing with ya !! cant go wrong with Alpine HUs. Tho Im not keen on their speakers. * The Focals are nice tho ! I recently bought a new el-cheapo boss amp to replace another old jaycar el-cheapo amp. *when i can justify another $1.5k amp i'll replace that with gool ol' Audison tho. first on the list is a tonne of sound deadening tho. Sooooo sick of buzzes and vibrations![/colorost_uid0] |

[color=#000000ost_uid0]Yeah Dave,
I've always liked the Alpine stuff [hence the list * ] but I heard from another friend that last years model Type R splits are better sounding than the new ones. Weird. But I was interested in the Focals as well, as they have a flush mount style tweeter. I hate the other splits with those stupid pod things! Yuk! I just don't know where to mount the damn things if I get them. I was thinking at the top of the A pillar. Could be interesting. Adam[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]I have alpine 6.5" splits in my car and the pod is mounted in the a-pilar of the door. I also have 6.5" coax in the doors 2 with a similar head unit and amp (just older version). I currently run a single 12" VR sub but will be expanding to 2x12" with probably a 500W monoblock to power em. The dude that installed it used **** cable so I need to re-run all the cable with stinger cables and we should be sweeeet.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]Forgot to mention that my car already has sound deadening too
Adam - do you like the way the tweeters are mounted in my car? Or are they not flush enough?[/colorost_uid0] |
