GTSPEC rear strut brace

Got the GT SPEC Strut Tower Bar -Rear (P5/Wagon) from cork sport the other day!

http://www.corksport.com/main.php3?p...3Fcat%3D220752

All u need to do is cut small holes in each side trim (sounds bad but looks ace) No other mods needed.

tools U will need.
*hole saw or drill
*jigsaw
*tape measure
*marker/pen
*deep 14mm socket
*17mm spanner
*8mm allen key

Tip 1: Start with a smaller hole and try and stretch the trim over the seat hinge and then over the strut brace tops, if to small cut it a bit bigger a bit at a time to make it nice and neat.

Tip 2: Before u tighten up the aluminium bar jack the back of the car up from the rear sub frame so the strut towers droop, then tighten up the allen bolts and let down.

I am very happy with the final look of this product.

not yet. will soon. looks a treat!

Oh yeah, if u want to use the hatch for any large stuff, put a 17mm spanner and 8mm allen key in your tool kit, takes 1min to disconect.

you know the rear strut bar wont work on the sedan. the only parts available for the sedan are this :

a 3 part system. basically it reinforces the floor right near the boot and then 2 bars connect each end of that reinforcement to the struts

Hi Ezin,

I am about to place an order through Corksport for the GT SPEC rear Strut brace. Can you please tell me how you made payment, the cost of shipping and how long it took to get to you.

Also, I found this installation how-to on the "Mazda Forums" website. Notice the difference between this one and the one you have?

hey TDK, I paid buy credit card to cork sport and in cost 270 all up with the postage being expensive. Took 8 working days to get to my door.

Thats a nice install on the forums but i wanted the strut bar to sit lower and be able to see the brackets a bit more than just the tabs, thus i swaped the brackets over, the choice is up to u.

Does that mean that you get two sets of brackets and you just use which ever one you want?

Also, i'm guessing that it's US$270, not Aussie dollars.

I think I just understood what you ment. Instead of completely changing the brackets you turned it over. So the one that you have is the same as the install on the Mazda Forum but upside down.

Sorry, i'm still getting over todays work load.

Nah 270Au man, I just turned the brackets over so they faced down rather than up its up 2 u on the way u want to install, either way it still has the same effect.

Hard to tell the difference with it being lowered and having rear sway bar. I think its more a total of parts that make it feel like a go kart now, but really i think its just for looks ad peice of mind that its there. I reckon the chassis are dam good in these cars to begin with.
