Remote Central Locking Installation
Hi Forum,
Just recently bought a 2000 Mazda 323 BJ Astina and while the central locking is nice, I would much prefer a remote. I have purchased a Radiowave Central Locking Kit from eBay and looking at the diagrams that came with the kit, I am really confused about what goes where and where to get power and how to connect it. Has anyone done this to their Astina? Any advice? Regards, AZ |

dont know the kit you have posted about.
but you just need to pull a constant +12V wire and tap that for the module. and connect a motor/servo to the locking mech in the drivers door. then that unlocks, the stocko central locking system will activate the other 3 doors. |

just run a wire to the batt through one of the factory grommets, and the negative/ground to a bolt somewhere, and as project.r said just put one of the locking servos on the drivers door.
i did the same thing to mine but it had an alarm aswell, although i couldnt've been bothered running a new wire so i just tapped of the constant 12v wire to the ignition barrel

Have a look inside the boot lining near the fuel tank and see if there is a reciever for teh central locking.
If there is buy a remote for the central locking off ebay and use one of the guides available on the net to add it to the system. |

The Boot already has a motor in it, still unsure about how it would hook up as the wiring diagram doesnt give much instruction.

you're not understanding what he's saying
your car MAY have a factory receiver unit for the remote system, it is located on the passenger side of the boot, behind the plastic panel... same side where the fuel filler neck is or you can just give me your VIN and I can see right away if you have this system from the factory or not if you do, then don't bother with that ebay crap... go get the mazda remotes and program them to your car!

Would there be a receiver even though the drivers door has no lock motor?

what specs and grade level is your car?
the VIN of your car will fully determine what you have or don't have

ok, your car does NOT have factory keyless... it says so once I ran the VIN
it's also evident because your driver door does not have a lock actuator, but you can get the factory one and add it in which will fit and work better than the aftermarket ones you are best using an aftermarket keyless entry or alarm system to actuate the locks remotely

that kit isn't worth it... you're replacing your factory door actuators with that aftermarket crap that doesn't fit right and are noisy
as I said, you're better off getting a driver's door actuator from a higher grade car that has keyless entry then getting a cheap alarm kit as it will control the door locks

My friend and I installed the central locking and it works a treat, didn't have to install an actuator in the drivers door, it was already installed just needed to be wired up.
