The 180 Diary!!! (56K Warning) Comments Welcome..

Ok guys....

This thread will be for everything that i do to the 180SX in terms of mods or just plain muckin around...ill update this thread accordingly.

So me being me, wouldn't let a car like the 180SXX stay stock for long.

My intentions of buying a stock car were so i could make this car my own example...

Hope you guys don't mind if its a Nissan (I know you guys love me...)

Firstly...

Bought myself a Front Mount InterCooler (FMIC).
Its a GKTECH Piping kit with a GKTECH Core (600mm x 300mm x 76mm Bar & Plate)

Painted the piping kit with heat proof matte black engine enamel...complete with Black Silicon Hoses

The Cold pipe (or Inlet Pipe) has been designed to route through the battery tray in the engine bay.

I plan on doing CAM events and have signed up for 1 so i thought doing a proper job might keep the scrutineers off my back, so the battery is now in the boot...

"0" B&S Cable....Big Stuff...

I then heard that putting on 1 of these kits would produce more lag unless you upped the boost, the cooler was just a safety blanket for hot air entering the throttle body etc...

I have a Blitz SBC I-Color, but found that getting parts (I needed a new dual solenoid) were almost impossible to get with the financial bickering and all...

So I supported Aust. and purchased a Turbosmart E-Boost II...

I then heard that if i increase the boost, the factory BOV wouldnt be able to hold and would "Leak"...

So I, once again, supported the Aust. Market and purchased a GFB PB BOV, suitable for both Atmo and PB applications

GFB Mach1 Very Impressive Machining...and Quality...not talking about the photo either...

Just for general maintenance, A new Expansion Bottle from GKTECH, mine was cracking around the corners...

I just renewed my L2S today also...

What was the reason for putting the batterey in the back of the car? Cannot say I've heard of a requirement to have it in the back.

As Marc has pointed out...

+ It will be easier to put my "Blue Triangle" on the rear quarter..

Mr. R.... Have you got a sticker to point out the location of your battery?
Im getting a magnet made up so i can take it off and it wont damage the paint work...

I've also applied for a AASA Clubman license so I can do Sprint days at LS and QR.

I believe that the L2S should be enough to do sprint days.

Wrong. CAMS will not insure any competitor at non CAMS events now.

Pics of the whole car, pretty much how i bought the car from NSW...will take more with the Driving Course day in May...

http://www.astinagt.com/forums/member.php?u=2142

Some more pics of the stuff Ive done lately..

CES Dump/ Front pipe with HPC coating

MagnaFlow Steel Cat

And A 2nd hand (off a 32,XXXkm JDM S15) T28BB Turbo

A Comparison: Left: T25 on my 180SX ATM - Right: T28BB off a JDM S15, this thing should easily push me to 210-220kw once i get the ECU in order + some 750cc injectors and a 044 fuel pump...

I'm replacing all the gaskets, studs and lock nuts since on the SR, they are all common problems, most of the pre 98 SR's also have fibre gaskets so Im replacing them with S15 multi-layer steel options...
