BA Astina: Cup Holder

I have to say that I'm in love with my 97 BA Astina (now that I have the whole fog light issue resolved). I was actually considering buying the Mazda 6 MPS ($55k) when it comes out, but can't keep my eyes off my BA and would rather put money into her then get the new MPS (of course I say that because it's cheaper to get the upgrades then to get a new car).

Anyhow, the BA's a pleasure to drive, handles well, but there's one down side to (my) BA... There's no factory cup holder...

Do other BA's have factory cup holders, or did I just get a bad series or something? I have the 1.8L version, not the V6.

Are factory cup holders available? I don't want to lose my open storage space under the radio, nor do I want to buy a cheapo K-mart cup holder that you stick on the fan vent grill...

It's truly ridiculous the amount of cup holders other cars have - I've seen a car with 6 for the two front seats and 1 for each of the back seats. That being said, I wish I had at least one in the front (it's always tricking trying to juggle gear changing and braking, while eating a Big-Mac and trying not to spill coke all over myself or the passenger seat. I currently wedge the maccas cup between the passenger seat and the seat belt latch).

if u really loved your car you wouldnt eat & drink in it

hehe

You can get some from auto stores etc that clip into the window ledge. Never tried them, but they might be worth a look.

be warn tho.
i have the japspec cup holders p1m0 is talking about, and they don't hold any cups, just cans.... any fastfood papercup will fall out with a bit of accelaration.. and 600ml bottle don't fit

i rarely use mine, just use it as an arm rest.

yeah, they replace the lid of the centre console bin,but it's about twice the size of the standard lid.

i should have some pics next week, as they don't often come up on yahoo japan.

MPS is out the window.

After looking at what can be done to my BA and how good some of yours looks, I think I can hold off on that MPS... Much lighter on the wallet to spend $2k with upgrades, than $50k with another Mazda, that (truly) doesn't look like what it's worth....

Hopefully $2k upgrade will include a cup holder.....
