[IDEA'S THREAD]: AstinaGT Annual Cruise 2013
Hey guys,
The idea has been going round by a few of the older & newer members to do another Annual Cruise! Nothings confirmed, so its up to you guys to make suggestions on where we stay, when we do this, and what we do.. To give you a heads up, here are a couple of the threads created for annuals gone by: 2007 Annual ideas thread: http://www.astinagt.com/forums/showt...8&page=1&pp=20 2007 Annual photo thread: http://www.astinagt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8931 2009 Alternate QLD/NSW thread: http://www.astinagt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13586 From previous years, all parties have merged on the Dorrigo Mountain Resort for accomodation (its ok, pretty cheap) around Easter time (which works out for many couples etc). The best thing around the area being the drive up & down Waterfall Way (some of the best roads I have driven ) So post up and suggestions! Cheers Marc

Um sam, you do realise it'll be like a 3 day event? Between now & March gives you plenty of time to get your Tina lowered and handling great, cause those roads from Dorrigo to Coffs are super sweet

It a good suggestion to meet at Armidale as it is about half way between Brisbane and Sydney. I drove roughly this way when I went to Sydney for new years.
The roads were a lot of fun. Brisbane to Armidale http://goo.gl/maps/krGe Sydney to Amidale http://goo.gl/maps/4slp |

Hehehe and I get to take putty road the entire way up to Armidale! XD
It's pretty nice there tho... There is a caravan park with a bunch of cabbins and they are always happy to book them out for car clubs and they make an effort to put you all next to each other. And yep it's almost smack bang in the middle of brissy and syd. And There are 4 or 5 different spectacular cruise route's in each direction of Armidale. But as said I wasn't trying to change it Was general comments... But yeah... If you want More info I can do,

If you were to take some of your own food (bread milk etc, as there is only 1 servo & small convenience store in Dorrigo), I think it was around $500? That included 3 fill ups too
Accomodation was like $60/night, which was average but you're only sleeping there

so that was what, three years ago? accommodation would be $80-90 these days surely. happy to share a room as Ellen isnt interested in the slightest haha. everyone save up lots of money. (i.e save the tax return) would be awesome to see a fleet of engine-swapped QLD'ers... dumb question but are there any motorsport places anywhere close? (I think) it would be awesome to have a drag/track day together - which pushes the cost/ chance of breaking something higher, but hey. who doesnt wanna race the purple-roofmobile.
oh and I'd need a car too...thats the expensive bit.
