HID for 97 BA HT

Will these fit my '97 BA Hardtop?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Premium-55W-H...item2559975e13

Thoughts on quality of the product?

Cheers,
Steve.

personally, I would be staying with a 35w HID, 55w would be too much on the wiring

seems decent enough. although one can never really judge from a picture haha
wouldn't go more than 6000K for staying under the radar

Stocco incandescents are 55w so standard Mazda wiring should be OK.

55w works a treat, no issues so far

If you need a hand to install them, give me a yell

So I've been looking at kits also. And they range from $50 to $200 on ebay, but product looks the same in most pics. Which to buy?

Also, can the bulbs only be changed at a later date if you do need to change the colour?

Ballast is just to ignite and then control the power to the bulb. The bulb provides the colour temperature depending quantity of metallic salts so the bulb can be changed whenever. The only thing you have to be careful of is the wattage. 35w ballast requires 35w bulb and 50w etc. Have been doing a lot of research on the HIDs as I want both my high and low beams and my fog lights using HIDs. The kit I'm using now cost me over $150 from ebuy but my bulbs are slightly different colours. Will most likely buy my next kits from dianeshop on ebay as they look to be exactly the same quality but cheaper.

i found the same as Rustykaos,
my bulbs were to slightly different colours
but after a day of using them they were the same colour.

theres an initial build up of salts which needs to be ionised and burnt off first if i recall.

but yes the bulbs can be changed whenever as long as u are using the same rated bulb for the ballast.

as far as which to buy, everyone is going to recommend the ones they personally bought mostly, unless they had a bad experience.

i was warned to stay away from some of the cheaper foreign branded ones (from china etc) because the ballasts have been renowned for being fault and bulbs broken etc. but i'm sure there are horror stories for every product on ebay

go for 2 options. cheap ($70) chinese option. OR skip the rest and go for known GREAT brands like Philips (they make a really nice set) or bosh i think make a set too. the high end stuff outputs up to 50% more than the cheaper kits but i think its in the realm of dangerous tbh!

for $70 you honestly cant go wrong esp when it takes 3 days to get to your door!

i just fitted 35w HID's to my hardtop and i'm not impressed, I got the 6000k ones but i like the colour but they seem to have lots of dark sports and concentrate ligt in strange places they are not evenly dispersed on the road, even the stock 55w h3's spread the light better but the only diference is colour they do not produce better light so i'm driving around with HID in the left and H3 in the right just so i can compare before i get rid of the HID's. is this because of the projector style factory lights?

Are they in upside down? Or possibly wrong bulb?
