'95 Hatchback

Hey guys,

Just a question about the 95 1.8L Hatchback. Does it have an airbag and ABS brakes?

Thanks!

not quite sure. i think only drivers side. i know the hardtop and the v6s have passanger airbag and drivers and 4 wheel abs but on the 1.8 it may have drum breaks on the back.

From my knowledge NO Astina in Australia ever came with drum brakes (Please can I also plead with people to spell brakes correctly for a change, everyone lately isn't and it makes things kinda difficult for an old timer to distinguish what the heck is going on)
Yes the v6 models (Hatch and Hardtop 1994-1998 and All BJ Astinas thereafter had these as standard)
1.8l pre 98 Not a standard option

Mate I'm with you, all these young blokes that can't spell, too much text messaging, and not enough real writing and spelling.

Mmm well when she starts up I have the Brakes system symbol come on for a few seconds, but no airbag symbol.

Off the original topic, whoever bought it originally wanted it to look like the V6 It's got the alloys, rear spoiler and fog lights.

The spoiler has nothing to do with the v6 issue
Are they the same foglights as the v6 or just an aftermarket addition.
The v6 foglights are larger at the back than the globe itself, kinda like an eyeball. I thiink the genuine ones were offered as an extra though.
You would know straight up if you had an airbag equipped ride, One on the passenger side of the dash and one on the wheel.
Add to that when the ignition key goes on the airbag light will emit and actually stay on slightly longer than the oil light

Yeah, it doesn't have a passenger one thats easy to tell. I just don't know how to tell if the steering wheel has one. Does the Brakes System light indicate ABS?

Its easy to tell if u have an airbag. If u have a three spoke steering wheel then u dont. If u have the four spoke with 2 buttons for the horn u do. As for the passenger side if u have a compartment that opens up the top u dont and if u cant open it then u have an airbag

That is odd. Makes me think it's a import, as one of the JDM V6 models had steelies as standard
