Thanks for your help so far!
The Blue Vision claim up to 30% more light, so that should keep you happy while having the cool white/blue look you want. If you go any bluer than 4000K you will actually lose light!

If you flatout just want more light and don't care about the cool white/blue look, try the Osram Silver Star or Power Plus +50, or the Philips Vision Plus +50, there is also the Philips GT150 Power2Night if you're lucky enough to have H4 or H7 sockets.

Since I can see you have spotlights in your sig, why don't you just get the Blue Vision for the parkers/headlights/highbeam, and get H3 100W kickarse Rally lights for the spotlights? I dunno how the plastic or wiring would take the extra power, that is why I said earlier to see an autoelectrician about it.

That's about all I can suggest without repeating myself over and over. If you take the time to find out what your lights are, it will narrow the choice for you anyhow, as not all the lights are available in each socket type.

The weird thing with my spotlights is that they can only come on when my High Beams are on. Is there anyway I can change that myself? Or job for auto-electrician?

Cheers.

Who fitted your spotlights? Sounds like they are piggybacked off your highbeam loom (overload?). I don't know how the BA's work, but the BJs are pre-wired with most of the loom for foglights, and so you just buy the interior switch and partial loom for the front bumper to the lights from Mazda.

I can't really help with your questions, I don't know the BA and you will need someone with half an idea to do the wiring anyhow. I suggest you start another thread about your problem so you can get some better answers than the limited audiance here can give you.

The BA foggies should be switchable when the parks are on. Plenty of descriptive posts on BA fog light wiring (connecting to the factory wiring) only a search away.

Send a message via MSN to platypus
if they are DRIVING lights they should be on your HIGH beams

if they are FOG lights they should be on your position illumination lights

and i still say that the osram silverstars are the best globes going

Good points Rod and James. I might also add that foglights don't cast a very long spread of light, they tend to only light the road up immediately infront of you, or fill in the gap under the headlights. The lights in Plutonus' sig appear to be driving/spot lights by the look of them.

I've heard this from BJ1 and KN/Q owners, but on the BJ2, because the light goes through a refracted prism before seeing the diffuser, I think some of the advantage is lost. HOWEVER, the SilverStars do illuminate signage and road markers very very well even if any additional light is otherwise not so perceivable.

Good to know! Thanks Sausage.

Just to let everyone know the code is still working. Used the 'astinagt' coupon code for my 10% off. Second time I've purchased from this website and prices haven't changed in about 4yrs (which was roughly how long the Osram silverstars lasted)

Bit of grave dig, but a search revealed this thread. Bought some globes from these guys and the discount still works.

Thought I would let everyone know that powerbulbs has 20% off for four days. Use the code PB20, get some cheap bulbs and free gift (as they usually do).
