WTB (NSW) - BPT parts - Turbo, Injectors, ECU etc
Im going to start building the motor for my BA, so now seeking parts.
I will have rods and pistons, so that pretty much covers the block. I will have aftermarket cams (if I can source them) and some headwork. I will get a custom turbo manifold. I will need to source any fuel/injection parts that are different from BP to BPt. Fuel Rail? Fuel Reg? (Stock or Aftermarket) Appropriate Injectors (Preferably higher flowing) (Or entire manifold if that differs?) Fuel pump? Turbo (preferably VF10 or larger) ECU (If anyone has a spare aftermarket with loom) Oil feed and drain lines Coolant lines STILL ADDING TO LIST. |
I have a full vf10 setup (manifold, turbo, dump pipe, intake pipe into turbo to suit) also have a standard plenum.
I have microtech lt10s with x4 igniter Box that has been upgraded with data logging and 3bar map sensor. Also have 4 1000cc ID injectors PM for prices |
I've got stock setup but sounds like you're chasing more.
|
The bpt injectors are different to the NA injectors and The fuel rails are the same but if ur getting a aftermarket ecu id get some bigger injectors an a better fuel rail. Like a mtuned fuel, mtunes dual rail supply, and a SARD FPR. U can get all this from 949racing.com.
The Fuel pumps arent to bad but stock but if ur looking id go a warbro 255 (i think thats the product code) pump |

I used just a Walbro intank pump and malpassi fpr with my vf10 setup.
|
This will be a infinite sized list. As the bp and bpt share so many parts. the final output and the money chosen to spend on the engine will determine the parts required.

What power will standard injectors cope with?
Would it be worth running RX8 injectors.... |
Stock BA injectors with a RRFPR will support almost 200KW ATW...and that's pretty much their limit.
|
The tan 252cc injectors will get close to 200HP as above (I'm sure Dan meant whp, not wkW). The green 220cc injectors wont.
If money permits, then yeah the yellow 440cc RX8 injectors would be good. $200 for brand new injectors is a good deal. And they are the better/advance 4 nozzle versus the older single nozzle tan bp/black bpt injectors. I just brought some 2nd hand NB8B grey 265cc injectors from a turbo MX5 for $100. Most are getting 160-170HP (in MX5s) from these with simple mods and not close to full duty cycle. |

The RX8 ones have different impedances and require a standalone, no worries ill be running one but is there difficulty in programming them in for someonr dyno tuning the car... |
the yellow RX8 ones do not run different impedances to bp/bpt.
360cc is standard black bpt injectors. a bpt with a completely oem fuel delivery setup, programmable ems, and big piping and fmic will get you 200whp. the point i was trying to make about the RX8 injectors was, that if you are gonna spend $100-$150 on 2nd hand 360cc gtx injectors, and then get them cleaned and flow tested for $100. then you might of well brought the new $200 440cc RX8 ones in the first place. |

Point taken. Im hopeful for 250whp. With all this would it be achieable? |
if you want more than 200whp, the VJ20 will not do.

wow!!! you used 220cc injectors and got 194wkW/258whp.
|
Couldn't have done it without the Malpassi. That was even with a stock S2 fuel pump!
|
what fuel pressure range was the malpassi running at? must have been going past 50psi?
i've heard the fuel pump is good for 300hp, but it is only hearsay. |
Holy Dooley. I've got an adjustable fpr I got off derb who used it once and I've bought a higher quality one, $50 and its yours. Drift brand.
