while u wait for dogo to answer, I'll tell you about my install :P
i mounted my ballast under the headlight facing down, there were holes there already, so no drilling was needed. pics below
that shinny mirror finish, at the bottom left of pic, is the back of the ballast. u can also see where the nut and bolt is that is holding it in place.
