Conversion is simple. All mounts are the same. The only thing you will have to change is your clutch. Jim Berry in QLD makes an excellent clutch kit to save your gearbox but still providing ****loads of clamp so it doesn't slip.
The $2500 from Adelaide Jap wouldn't be a fitted conversion. Sounds like the price of a front cut suitable for a conversion, but they don't supply a gearbox.
If you can get a cut like the one from Rolin in QLD, it's a bit of a bonus that you get the box...even though you won't have a use for it, you can use it as a bartering tool to upgrade to a DOHC box, shafts and mounts. The DOHC box has different ratio's and a bigger diff to that of a SOCH box currently in your car.
If you are pretty easy on your car (ie, driving style isn't like a bat out of hell), you should be fine with the SOHC box, and therefore you will only hve to change clutch as I said.
