just unhook the wastegate actuator from the wastegate, then tie the wastegate arm to full open position.... turbo will get bypassed and you'll see 1-2psi at most

and go buy that book if you can get it for $32 shipped
it is THE holy grail to turbocharging for beginners... it's written in easy to understand plain english with lots of pics too.... it's not a boring school text book!
