History
Brought with 82,000km on the clock in 2002. Everything stock except it was running 15x6.5 wheels. I cannot find pics of it at the moment. In 2003, I fitted some 17x7 chromies, 30mm lowering King springs and a HUGE 3in straight through exhaust with a 5in tip. The exhaust lasted 6 months and was changed to current version. Still looks like a 4WD with 215/45R17 tyres and 30mm springs. Early 2005, chrome tail light were fitted. $420 eBay job from Germany. Then in late 2005, the current 18x7.5 wheels were fitted. Now the out-of-date and out-of-place chrome tail lights had to go. So hit up ozeparts for a $240 set of black tail lights and had the beaver panel painted. Much better. Early 2006, I borrowed JIC coilovers and they were an instant hit. Late 2006, started fitting all the suspension mods and change over to D2 coilovers. In 2007, started to get into Motorkhanas quite alot. In 2008, Dan got me some 15x7 Mazdaspeed wheel from Japan. And have used them with the supplied rubber in a few motorkhanas. In 2009, got another set of 15x7 Mazdaspeed rims and fitted all 4 with semi slick style tyres. Then plan is to get into some more motorsports and hit Lakeside with Marc and Dean by the end of this year. Last edited by project.r.racing; 08-06-2009 at 07:57 AM. |

the serius 1 and 2 BA had a grey and black enterior, predominatly grey.. we do have cooler door cards IMO but its still grey series 1 had a better G series gearbox and series 2 have engines that were put together by kia apparently. crappy oil rings so i have the worst of three

had a good run on the tyres today. tried them at 34psi.
turn in and steering response is great. it's instant and i feel everything i should. braking is teeth shattering. feels like the rear is gonna lift off the ground when braking. mid corner / apex speeds seem only to be marginally better. but am still having issues with the older suspension. i have a feeling the alignment is off again. corner out speed is awesome. i am able to apply full power running out of the corner without any tyre slip. makes a huge difference with short stabs between tight corners. after a while, the day got hotter and the road temp rised. the firmness of the ride got alot bumper. so i'm assuming the pressure raised a bit, and i didn't have a tyre psi gauge to check them. the tyres were getting hotter and the grip got a little better. |

the BA certainly looks porn with all MS-01's on it
So the tyres worth the monies?

yes, well worth it. but anything bigger than a 35% aspect ratio is gonna handle better. but the lateral grip is huge with these kumhos. soft compound = big grip.
