rain leaking in behind dash

Hello

I've got a 95 BA Astina hatch that has developed an internal leak. I had parked outside yesterday and when i got back into it at the end of the day the carpet was soaked. It has rained pretty heavily all day. As best as i could tell the leak was coming from behind the dash from the pillar that sits next to the accelerator pedal. Its also coming out at the same spot in the passenger side as well. I've checked around and under the hood but can't seem to track it down. Any ideas.

Checked under the scuttle panel/plastic cover under the wipers? Might be clogged with crap.

Do you mean physically remove it, i.e. take of the wipers and unscrew it? There was nothing stuck in the plastic grill thingy (scuttle panel).

might have to check the seals around your windscreen too.

Also like rupe said, your drain ways might be blocked. If they are severely blocked you would probably find the overflow is running down your firewall in the engine bay, finding its way in between every rubber fitting and leaking inside the car.

The seals were the first thing i checked. I've been doing a fair amount of wood working lately in my garage and i'm thinking it could be sawdust cloging the drains. Tomorrow i've got a day off so i'll check the drains then.

I've just noticed that the side windows seals are loose. When i first looked i only looked at the bottom seal. It's the black plastic with the rubber gasket thingy. Whats the best way to re-seal it. Silicon?
I'm wondering if this might be the source of the leak.
Unfortunately i couldn't get the wipers of to check for the blocked drain.
